  1. Just keep it rolling, I look for Daisuke to bounce back here against the struggling Toronto offense.
  2. Well, obviously you're right. However, it's not Randy Moss' signing that makes me and many otehrs supremely confident in this team. It's the total overhaul we gave the WR corps all the while signing Adalius Thomas and getting a solid draft pick in Merriweather. That along with the return of Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson will make this team much better than the AFC Championship team of last year. Moreover, besides what comes with Tom Brady, this has been a defensive team throughout it's dynasty, and we have won games with our clever defensive schemes. However, this year we have a defense to contend with the Ravens and an offense to contend with the Colts, not to mention having a solid special teams unit. It just seems that this etam ahs no weaknesses and as of now, I can't think of any team in the league who can come close to us in terms of balance and overall strength.
  3. Definately like tthat idea, as I'd rather keep Ellsbury over Moss at this point. A bullpen with 5 dependable arms would be very valuable (that's if you count Donnelly).
  4. Honestly I don't know how the Yankees didn't see this lack of pitching before the season started. Everyone had them as favorites in the AL East, and maybe that will still turn out to be true, but I never thought they had strong starters or a bullpen (though it was better than ours before we kenw about Okajima). Even when healthy, their starters only had 2 or maybe 3 strong, and besides that were almost always going to have to bail out the other two starters with their offense.
  5. Definately more winnable then what I thought it would be with this pitching matchup.
  6. Shoulsa picked up Tim Linecum instead, he's the best propspect that's cming up this season and absolutely ripping up AAA.
  7. "With a four run lead, Pedro Martinez pitches like a wily wolverine" - Tim McCarver "Yeah, it hit him in the leg, it definately hit him in the leg, you see right there? that's when it hits off his leg" "They're saying it hit his bat" "I don't know I can't see it" - Joe Morgan
  8. That's exactly how I feel on this subject. Furtehrmore if you sit Pedoria for Cora your not only going to be underwhlemed by the everyday production of Cora, but your hankering a greater talent in Pedroia, who will give you hat Cora gives you and more when he reaches his prime. He's in the 9 hole so he can be lost between Manny and Papi, and is in a spot where we don't really need him. Are we in 1st place? Do we have the best record in baseball? Yes. So what's the problem? Let Pedoria figure it out, we're in no hurry.
  9. Unless Brady goes down, we will be favorites to win the Super Bowl. Beckett95 basically said everything I was going to say, this team has no weakensses.
  10. Wow, Moss is taking a 6 million dollar paycut to come here (3 million base salary), there's no doubt he wants a ring badly and will definately keep in line. Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Caldwell, Jackson, Gaffney is a very good, and deep receiving corps.
  11. Haha, ok, I know what your saying but I wasn't talking all about chiemstry as being a big deal. I'm just saying Moss was a pain in the ass for Oakland and that his personality isn't exactly fantastic, not that he'll bring down our team. And yes I said I didn't want Bonds, for that reason and even though he would hit us some key HRs I couldn't bear watching him break Aaron's record in a Sox uni.
  12. There are other ways to fit in Russell. Plus they're the Raiders, they've dealt with overages (sometimes of 41 mill) before. Granted his contract stuck out liek a sore thumb, but the bottom line is that Moss isn't exactly helping the team chemistry.
  13. best receiver in the game? are you crazy? talks all of yesterday were for a 5th rounder.
  14. I wouldv'e rather given up a 5th for him but now that we've restructured the deal I'm okay with it. Moss should be good for at least one season (like Corey Dillon) and it will be great to watch this team be one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL. We should rank in the top 10 offensively and defensively. If we don't win the Super Bowl it will be a big dissapointment, because I don't know how you stop this team now. Pending Maroney has a bad year we are seemingly unbeatable.
  15. Holy s***, we got Randy Moss for a 4th rounder. A bit on high on the return pick but Ill take a Brady to Moss connection anyday.
  16. Francona seems to hqve his own on Pedroia. How does he expect the kid to succeed if he sits him every otehr day for Cora?
  17. It's early, you can't really judge any etam with Howard, Pujols, and Manny slumping
  18. Likewise I am also excited. Always interesting to see the next posible superstar pitcher. Will it be nationally televised?
  19. I may consider giving you Holliday in that deal you sent, but I'd need time. However, if the OF replacing him could be a bit better, Id do it much sooner. Also an upgrade at 1B/2B would be better suited.
  20. If I hear Joe Morgan say "watch this" again, Im gunna shoot myself
  21. yeah, i was really puzzled when I was checking on my Reds players from my fantasy teams. Why one arth is hit or miss Dunn in the 2 hole?
  22. Same could be said for last year's team, but then again even I thought last years was bad at the begining of the season. As for this year though, I as well thought they'd be good, so kudos to us. Anyway, good game today, though the defense wasn't great. Beckett was good, and the Yanks really seemed to be hitting his fastball well. Good to see these games from Coco and Tek, hopefully they'll stay clicking when Manny gets it together. Bad to see Cora starting, I think Pedroia couldv'e used the reassurance that he still had his job. But no matter, a wins a win, lets sweep it tomorrow.
