  1. It's just a loose comparison of the subject's playing style to that of a known ball-player, such as comparing Ellsbury to Damon or in this case Reddick to O'Neil.
  2. pretty good line there, cant ask for anything more. once eh gets back up to the big club he should re-stabalize us with 5 solid pitchers Stats in the last month Josh Beckett 3-2, 33 IP, 39 Ks, 4.09 ERA Daisuke Matsuzaka 3-2, 38 IP, 38 Ks, 3.55 ERA Curt Schilling ---------- Tim Wakefield 3-2, 30.2 IP, 13 K, 6.16 ERA Kason Gabbard 3-0, 29.1 IP, 25 Ks, 3.38 ERA Once Wake gets into his next hotstreak, that staff looks pretty formidable and we should jump out of playing .500 ball.
  3. wow, they just changed the error to Wily Mo to a double for Konerko. Didn't see the play but it seemed to just be a really bad error.
  4. I kinda just don't like Wily Mo anymore. Anyway good to take the lead for Gabbard.
  5. impressive so far in Greenville, seems to have decent 5 tool skills.
  6. Frustrating game (and series in all) tonight, especially when Tavarez gave up 4 runs that one inning. Not too worried though, the Yankees have chipped away at our big lead before, and though they are making progress, don't forget how hard it is to close in on what was once a 12 game lead. When Schlling gets back I say we move Tavarez to the pen and keep Gabbard up,call up Lester, or look at trade possibilities. Wakefield is having his expected streaky season and won't be like this all year. Once the old Wake, Schill, and the new 5th starter rejoin the aces, Beckett and Daisuke, we should go back to this year's strength which is our pitching staff.
  7. In Lancaster this season, has been playing catcher This season: AVG: .211, OPS: .609, AB: 71, HR: 3, RBI: 9
  8. Yeah, because you simply wrote it off as if it had absolutely no shot in hell. I'm sorry if I tried to prove you wrong, at the time you were being an ass.
  9. When did I EVER say that that fact alone meant A-Rod was going to sign with the Red Sox? When did I ever say what that Yankee offical said was the future of A-Rod's actions? I say how exciting it would be to have A-Rod on this team and you just bluntly post "Not gunna happen". Just like that, and so the point I was trying to make was that there was some, though I agree it is minimal, of a chance that he would opt out. You're probably right, A-Rod is probably not going to sign with the Sox, but there's no need to make posts that just plainly say 'Not gunna happen".
  10. Those retard posts are really getting old, stop using them in every thread. Whatever, I won't ruin this thread anymore as I can see that you still haven't gotten it into your head what point I was trying to make with the Joel Sherman quote.
  11. What can I say? I guess your illogical and arrogant statements rubbed off on me.
  12. Well according to Crespoblows there's no chance whatsoever that this will happen, so we might as well just stop daydreaming.
  13. Looking at Lester's AAA stats, he is actually by no means dominating. He does still need to work, as he has stretches of 2 good starts then gets rocked or is average at the most. I'd like to see his ERAs with runners and in scoring position go down, as well, and keep the BBs down.
  14. Agreed, he has fallen back down to earth, and can still be efeective in the pen. I ahven't bene keeping tabs on lester, but I assume he's not getting shelled.
  15. im really starting to hate the Who's Now s***. But in this case it's Brady hands down.
  16. Agreed, the ChiSox hand't won in awhile and it's not they like they got a bigger story then we did. Though the Cubbies will probably get a bit more coverage then they did.
  17. Hey, not my fault Cashman backed down from a comment he shouldn't have made. That wasn't the point I was arguing anyway, you brought quotes into it.
  18. :lol:How's the minros treatin' ya Thumper?
  19. I don't know why your fighting such a mute and obvious point that there is some chance, mininal or not.
  20. That was also in March, this quote however is much more recent http://www.nypost.com/seven/07022007/sports/yankees/making_a_move_yankees_joel_sherman.htm?page=0 I'm not saying it's going to happen, but you have to admit there is some possibility.
  21. MVP - Hideki Okajima, without him I can't think of how many games we mightv'e lost or ahd to put more strain on Papelbon's arm. If he keeps this up is the ROY no doubt. Cy Young - Beckett, if Okajima were closer than he would be, but Beckett ahs been superb this year, holding his HR totals down Best Glove - Youkilis, no errors yet and would be snubbed if he didn get the AL GG Best Catch - Hinske vs. the Tigers, no doubt Best Rookie callup standout - Ellsbury, the much anticipated debut was well worth the wait Best Game - Green jersey/Red Aurbach game vs. the Yankees, classic Best Moment - 4 consecutive HRs vs. the Yankees, anohehr classic Disappointment of a Position Player - Lugo, the average really sticks out, would be the first Sox to finish under the mendoza line on the Sox for awhile Disappointment of a Pitcher - Piniero, close second: Romero 1st Half Comeback Position Player - if he keeps it up, Crisp 1st Half Comeback Pitcher - Beckett, Tavarez deserves consideration for this too Most Underrated Player - Crisp, that average keeps climbing.
