  1. Anyone know if Papelbon wants to start next year? Pretty sure we found a suitable closer if we can re-sign him.
  2. Just got back from the game, i'm pissed I didn't see Gag-ne (as some fans called him) and was dying when I didn't see him warming up the bottom of the 7th. He got a stading O when he headed out to the pen. And he did warm duirng the 9th and looked mighty good in a Sox uni. Tavarez kind of reversed what he used to, instead getting roughed up his first time through the lineup and quieting them the next time round. Lineup failed to keep rallies going until the 7th, when we just crushed horrible pitching. manny and Wily Mo seemed to be the last outs whenever we had anything going early on. made me really wish we ahd Dye available. Anyway good game all in all despite not hearing Welcome to the Jungle. He'll probably be used tomorrow if we're ahead.
  3. Pretty bad, basically all of my friends are wearing C's jerseys todays, im sticking with my Suns though, KG or no KG.
  4. No, he didn't choke, Kenny Williams just wouldn't bite on the very smart counteroffer of hansen and WMP. Giving up 2 out of Masterson, hansen, and Delcarmen along with WMP is too much.
  5. Let me re-phrase, he's not Buchholz, Lester or Bowden.
  6. According to boston.com, the Sox are balking at giving up Masterson, which makes no sense to me, seeing as if Dye does leave he will give us a compensation pick back, and the fact that Masterson isn't in our top tier of pitching prospects. Seems like the Sox and the Yanks are overvauluing their prospects this deadline, and it's killed a few deals. If we do get Dye though, it would be great to have him here to refresh Manny, Drew, and Ortiz. IMO we should start Dye over Drew, but I'm not sure how Tito will think about this.
  7. Rotoworld reporting that we're possibly dealing WMP and Masterson/Bowden for Dye. I still don't understand what we're going to do with Dye.
  8. we wouldn't, probably the reason the deal fell through.
  9. whatever amkes you jump higehr, run faster. i want my athletes like my video games, let's go! ahah, daniel tosh is the man.
  10. It's not like this is the one and only move we'll make to improve our team. As said he does draw walks and can play evrerywhere in the OF so why not since we're only giving up moolah. I guess maybe I'd prefer Kielty over Clark though, if this move does indeed nix the Kielty deal.
  11. the VORP stats really sink in with me, I eman I wouldn't even trade Tavarez for that little of improvement. In my mind, if we do make any trade for him, it's trading for the sake of trading and does not actually bring in any improvement.
  12. "Then there is the prospect of turning over the current club with a Mark Teixeira or even Todd Helton (who re-emerged in the Red Sox rumor mill yesterday)." http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=1013272&format=&page=1 From the Herald, and all I have to say is NO, NO, NO!!!! I would much rather have a Youkilis/Lowell combinatio ratehr than anything involving Helton. Not saying he isn't a good player, but getting him is not the stretch of improvement Teixeira gives us, not to mention that we will have to give up a package including Lowell/Youkilis.
  13. As long as Buccholz stays i'm okaying any deal as long as we don't send an army or 'spects to Arlington. I feel Ellsbury is being a tad overrated and with Crisp returning to Cleveland form, I feel no need to keep him untouchable, as the only position that makes sense for him is filled by a guy who raised his average 40 points in less than a month. However, reading that mlb.com article, it looks like it's gunna turn into a game of chicken, as Texas has already told us what they wanted, and even though other teams are making offersfor Teixeira, we seem to be the option that makes sense, as those options seem to be balking at the demands.
  14. ESPN is reporting a rumor that would send Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis to Boston for prospects Clay Buccholz, Jon Lester, Craig Hansen, and Jacoby Ellsbury. No thanks. This trade makes no real sense as we'd have a logjam at the corners, unless we are trading Lowell in anotehr deal. Also it is waaay too steep of a price IMO as Cabrera, while amazing has put on 100 LBs and thus has limited range, not to mention Dontrelle s***ing the bed this season.
  15. I think this is more of a test to see where he is, because I doubt they send Gabbard down the way he's been pitching, and once Schilling's back up, they will probably send Jon back down.
