Well..Trot Nixon is only 31, so he still has several years left in the bigs, Mussinas going to be 37, and we all know that hes no Randy Johnson or Roger Clemens or Greg Maddux who can play till 45. So I think that Mussina is just in the zone right now. Is it for money? Who knows, but I'm 80% sure if he'd be getting a new contract...it will be with the Yankees. Not many teams have room for old starting pitcher with a history of injurys and so on and so forth. I'm excited about his play this year, and if hes only playing good to prepare for the next seasons contract offers(ala Beltran), then, ya know what, I'll live with it, becuase at the rate hes going, he can help us get all the way, and thats all I need him to do for me this year. We can deal with next year when that comes around, and weather hes on the team or not, we'll see. But right now, Hes playing for now, becuase I'm not too sure if he will be expecting that many offers becuase of a good 16th season.
