I just think it shows character. Of course the players get paid to give it their all on the field and that's all the fans should expect from them, but in such a media friendly society anything the players say or do reaches the fans, however unfair that is. I just don't appreciate unprovoked statements and a lackadaisical attitude toward something that I absolutely love and would like to think everyone out there on the field actually playing has even more passion and intensity than I do. This is not a perfect world of course, but I don't know how many more "Manny being Manny", and "Foule being Foulke"'s, I, or baseball, can stomach.

Who says that? Even if you think baseball is boring you shouldn't say it. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but there are so many guys out there who would give almost anything to be in his position. I can't believe someone who participated in Game 4 of the 2004 World Series called baseball boring.

Yeah and Joe Torre's past 9 Yankee teams have reached the post season every year, have an 8 in a row division champ string going, and have gotten 4 world series titles. I just don't think they are comparable yet. And I guess I shouldn't have used Little, but the idea behind it was that yes, Francona may very well be another Joe Torre, but he has a long way to go. Thats like saying Wang might be as premier a pitcher as the Rocket. It's possible but it's wishful thinking. -

Really because I think it's blatant hatred for the Yankees. It's not like they are getting rid of a bunch of teams no one wants to be, like the Rockies, Yankees, Devil Rays, etc. They are singling them out. Whatever it's pointless.

Whatever you poke fun at the Yanks, I poke fun at the Red Sox. Harmless fun guys. Just like its harmless to have "Yankees" written across your chest in little league. I just don't see the point of making a fuss about it. When I played little league when I was 10 I was on the Mets. Yeah, I may have kicked some dirt around but I didn't cry and I certainly didn't threaten to give up the sport entirely.

Was that just an off-season recap?? By josh i think it was. That only means one thing...it's almost over! 9 days till pitchers and catchers guys, 9 friggin days. I like the article a lot. Everything it says is true (albeit some mild exaggerations). I know people say the Yanks overpaid for Damon but the Yanks needed to lock down a good CF, and they did exactly that. Cash didn't trade away Wang and Cano, and now I'm just repeating what everyone else said so overall I'm excited to see how everything that happened this off-season shakes out come April.

With that kind of trade proposal it's obvious that the Red Sox have no real intentions of trading Manny and are just keeping him happy by "trying". I don't know how you guys can deal with this. The ping-pong nature of the Manny saga, and "Manny being Manny", is getting a little old.
