  1. Can someone explain to me how the Mariners continue to win?
  2. I missed the game tonight so I cought some of the replay and that slider Joba threw to Trot Nixon should not be allowed in the majors. That was just unfair.
  3. Torre doesnt know how to work a bullpen. Edwar got screwed the first time.
  4. Be fair though, you guys cought lightening in a bottle with Okajima. Who would have thought an avarage japanese reliever would become the best setup man in the majors.
  5. The 2007 Tigers are starting to remind me of the 2006 White Sox. Both teams coming off of a postseason where their pitching was outstading. Then the next year the pitching just simply isnt as good.
  6. BAA is alarming to me. In the minors I remember reading scouting reports about how lefties gave CMW trouble and how he would have to develop his change up more if he wanted to get them out. So I think the development of his secondary pitches are key to the rest of his career. I was looking over the splits from last year and this year and I'd have to agree with you a little. He hasnt been as good. But I think some of it can be attributed to his growth as a pitcher. I think hes mixing in more sliders and change ups which is affecting his G/F. But if he can get better as a pitcher in the long run by refining those pitches then so be it because how long can he live on just throwing a sinker? I can only think of one pitcher ever that was great and really only threw one pitch and that was Mariano Rivera AND EVEN NOW Rivera is mixing in many more 2 seamers. As the league sees you more you have to make adjustments.
  7. My whole thing about him being lucky is alot of people feel Wang's lack of K's will lead to his downfall. Not many pitchers have been succesful with that low of a K/9. What hes done the past 3 years is quite unprecedented. I said he does a great job of pitching late into ball games. What I mean is he does a great job of getting them into the 7th unlike pitchers like Mike Mussina who when he gets passed the 5th inning hes pretty much running on fumes. I think its valuable on a team with pretty much no middle relief. Alot of times the innings that decide a game are in the middle of the game. If you can by pass the underbelly of the pen you will win alot of games. I think Wang is evolving as a pitcher. His K/9 has been better this year and I think it will continue to get better as he refines his slider and change up.
  8. I'm well aware of all the stats the difference is I dont think of CMW on Santana's level I never did and I never will. So I personally do not overrate him. In fact prior to the year I projected Wang to have an ERA around 4.20 because he doesnt K anyone so I have been a tad suprised with the year hes had so far. Maybe some luck is involved however can you be lucky for 3 stright years? I think hes a good pitcher. Hes does an outstanding job of pitching late into ball games and he seems to always give the Yankees a chance to win, and with a team like the Yankees if you do that you will win alot of games.
  9. Since June 1st CMW is 10-2(counting tonights loss). He has made 21 starts and hes pitched at least 6 innings in 19 of those starts. Disapointment? Are you kidding me? Its the same story every year for Wang. He does really strike anybody out which makes what hes done the past 3 years remarkable. Hes never gonna blow anyone away like Santana, but hes consistantly good.
  10. Towers is a f***in punk. He went after A-Rod again after the benches have went back. This is far from over esp with Clemens on the mound. They threw behind him yesterday fine. It should have been over.
  11. If only Rivera was on the team this year.
  12. haha Eric Byrnes
  13. With relievers I'm not really cought up in the age. Scott Proctor made his ML debut at the age of 27 and hes been solid for us. The numbers suggest hes not a fluke.
  14. Did you read the "so anythings possible" part?
  15. If they get to within 6 games out by the break thats pretty good striking distance. In 2005 they were out 4 games on September 10 and they were able to take a 1 game lead at one point at the end of the season (They eventually tied). So anything is posible.
  16. I wonder where the Yankees are gonna go in this draft. If you remember in 2005 they could have had Craig Hansen and they didnt want to give him a ML contract so they picked CJ Henry. Last year they spent way over the slotting price to get guys like Chamberlain and Dellin Bentencs.
  17. IMO you cant deal A-Rod. He way too good. I'd love to get rid of Mussina but thats not happening. I think you can deal Abreu. Alot of teams need help in the bullpen and I'm sure someone would be willing to take on Fransworth. f*** Pavano and is Giambi getting hurt really suprising? If its not his knee its his back, if its not his back its his neck, if its not his neck its his foot.
  18. On the replay you can clearly see him say "ha". Now I can understand them bitching about him saying I got it but "ha"? Comeon! Catch the pop up and shut up.
  19. Your pic I believe is Jake Westbrook.
  20. Abreu will be gone but Rivera and Posada will always be Yankees.
  21. For the first time in awhile that is actually very accurate.
  22. Yeah we are done.
  23. The point remains...who cares? The fans arent stopping free agents from coming so I dont care what 1 PLAYER has to say.
