  1. Yeah the RJ projection is a little optimistic. They also have Melky slightly better then Damon. If A-Rod puts up those projections this year he will be killed.
  2. A-Rod with a SLG under 500?
  3. He didnt trade Contreas for Javier Vazquez. He traded Nick Johnson, Juna Rivera and someone else(I think Randy Choate) for Vazquez. He then traded Contreas for Estaban Loaiza.
  4. All 3 arent very good options IMO.
  5. I was kinda hoping getting guys like Chris Britton, inserting JB Cox into the fold sometime during the season would help take that kind of pressure off of Proctor. Its quite clear the only reason why he threw 100 innings was everyone outside of Rivera was either medicore or flat out sucked. EDIT: I forgot about Bruney also.
  6. I dont think they beat us for Manny. If I remember correctly the Yankees made a choice Manny or Mussina and we went with Mussina.
  7. Pretty strong words Jackson. I'm not ready to jump off the bridge. I think this is a classic example of the Yankees selling high on Proctor and Melky. I think last year was Proctor's ceiling. I dont see it getting any better for the 30 year old(when the season starts). You do have a case with Melky however on this team as it currently stands he is a 4th OF and I dont see him being much more FOR THE YANKEES because I see them going after guys like Vernon Wells next year after Abreu walks away.
  8. How about that Vince Young.
  9. Whats the risk if you sign him to a minor league deal?
  10. I hope the Cards arent joking.
  11. Wakefield(great guy) and Papelbon(Plays with passion, fun to watch).
  12. The commish has already said there needs to be changes to the posting system so I expect them to make changes before next off-season.
  13. You know this isnt the first time Boars has done something like this. He has had draft picks like Luke Hochevar sit out an entire year. While its not the EXACT situation its similar in a way because he can only negotiate with one team. I think it clearly comes down to Matsuzaka. How much does he really want to come to the US? Or does he let Boars talk him into sitting out a year for bigger money?
  14. Maybe its just as simple as him getting off to a bad start? His second half numbers dont suggest a decline thats for sure. Well what happens if Matsuzaka bombs out, or J.D. Drew hits 230. Come on thats a silly question. Of course its a bad deal just like any other deal would be bad if the player doesnt proform.
  15. Besides Halladay what SP puts a a sub 3 ERA in the AL easy anyway? I'm expecting what Pettitte has done through his career in the AL east.
  16. Whats his second half numbers Kilo? Or his 2005 numbers? His 2006 numbers are skewed due to a horrible 1st half. His second half numbers are outstanding.
  17. Rob Neyer had a great article on Wang and his low k rate awhile back. Wang has had pretty much the same K rate for 2 years and hes been fine. I chalk it up to having such an outstanding pitch and outstanding control of it.
