  1. Go onto a message board and complain about his age, say he's on the decline, and we'll be better off without him. (I don't know where I'd learn to do this...)
  2. 1) He wasn't traded. He was signed as a free agent. (Sorry, I'm a perfectionist and easily bugged by those kinds of things. ) 2) Yes, our starting rotation is definitely going to be better in 2006. Mainly because...there isn't anywhere to go but up. Anyways, this thread is about Damon and not the Yankee's pitching...let's not get off topic.
  3. I love how signing with the Yankees cancels out being a big part of a team which ended the 86 year drought of rings in Boston. Shows the priorities of a few are a bit skewed, at least in my opinion.
  4. It's not a matter of if he needs it. Also you don't know if he does; when you get a big contract relatives and friends pop up (in addition to taxes, the money he's paying those that work for him, etc.) and money finds a way of dissapearing...in a hurry. An extra $12 million is always a nice safety net. I mean..find me a person who would, seriously, turn down $12 million.
  5. Simple math. $52 million > $40 million $52 million is going to go further than $40 million. This deal was definitely better for him and his family, on an economic level; that's not an even issue.
  6. Sure. Whatever you say Anyways, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about the poster who has decided to wish major injuries on a guy for simply looking out for his own interests and those of his family.
  7. You also have to take into account the media factor here... The papers aren't going to be putting out articles where Damon talks about how he's excited to be on the Yankees, every player who has just joined a team says things like that. It's boring and, most of the time, fake. Quotes about his old team are obviously, in the minds of the reporters, going to be much more newsworthy.
  8. The Sox didn't 'let him go.' If anything, he was taken from Boston by a competent FO (thankfully, for you guys, the Boston FO has improved quite a bit since then.) Also, take your own advice. Get over this.
  9. You guys crack me up. If I was going to be at Opening Day, I'd give him a standing O just for what it's done to the citizens of RSN.
  10. It's a Seinfeld joke. I assumed you watched the show.
  11. I saw him last year; it was actually pretty dissapointing.
  12. Do you want to see what George Steinbrenner is like without his calzones?! I certainly don't.
  13. Wait, I'm confused. Is it the same deal that was being originally discussed? And, if so, why would they want Mota after that physical?
  14. And so ends one of the weirder chapters in TalkSox history...
  15. There's only one way to stop this. Normal TalkSox members...cover your eyes. :damon: http://www.sportsfrog.com/archives/damon.jpg:damon:
  16. When will it end!?
  17. Welcome.
  18. :banned: again.
  19. Are you signing up for a sports forum or a dating show? Welcome.
  20. 26 to 6 is not a troll, any poster will tell you that.
