  1. Much better than if I had actually done it...
  2. Really? Yeah, that was his Yankee debut. I remember thoroughly booing him as he walked to the mound...and booing him alot louder after he threw an easy ground ball into the stands and lost the lead. Another thing I remember from that game: Chacon falling over himself. He was warming up between innings and I looked away for a second. All of a sudden I heard the crowd gasping and looked back to see Chacon on the ground. I remember someone shouting, "Was he shot?!" Another great thing from that game was some guy in the front row, he had on a bright yellow shirt, and he was trying to get a foul ball that had been hit near him. He leans over the wall thing and pushed it away by accident. Then he did it again, and again. Eventually the Angels 1st base coach handed it to him...and he dropped it...again. That went on for like 5 minutes. I almost died laughing that moment.
  3. If you watched the games last year, especially towards the end, you'd see that (regardless of stats) Chacon and Small are completely different. I should also point out my other reason for being such a huge Chacon supporter. I was at his Yankee debut. Ever since then, he's just one of those players that , as a fan, I feel a weird connection with. I have to root for him. (Side note: That was the greatest game I've ever been to. Starting off teriffied at what this "Chac-un" guy would be like against the Angels and just a few hours later giving him a standing ovation, along with 50,000 other fans. And it didn't hurt that the Yankees rallied from a 4 run deficit in the final two innings.)
  4. I don't think Chacon is going to have a season like last year at all. I imagine his ERA will be somewhere around 4, a little below or a little above. I could see him winning a double digit amount of games, maybe 10 to 15 (though 15 seems a bit high in my mind.)
  5. Wrong. I have no faith in Small, whatsoever. That's it?:dunno:
  6. Anyways, back to spring training... The Unit had a decent day today. Pitched four scoreless innings and gave up two in the fifth; striking out 4 Cardinals. And Mo pitched a perfect 6th. The loss got charged to Sturtze, who gave up one run in the 8th, in his second appearance of the spring. And the one concern I had is quickly being put to rest. With Wright reaching almost epic levels of suckiness, it looks like the guys who deserve a spot in the rotation will be getting them.
  7. Please, continue to attempt to discredit him. If you didn't, then I'd be worried. I'm trying to decide if you're still upset he was better in 2005 than most of your staff or you're just scared of what he'll do in 2006; it's probably a mix of the two.
  8. He pitched more innings in NY; a drop in hits and the number of HRs staying the same is actually a pretty good thing, if you ask me.
  9. Keep dreaming.
  10. Thursday is good for me. Basically any day but Sundays and Tuesdays are good for me.
  11. It's funny how far Boston fans will go to discredit this 'one year wonder.' It's really telling.
  12. Tuesday is no good for me. Oh well...I was probably going to lose interest anyways.
  13. I wish I could make stuff up too. You'll notice I said 'guys like Damon,' players who are on a new team this year. Wait, because I don't like the WBC I can't post here? Who are you? Bud Selig? And what 'crap' have I spewed?
  14. If you seriously think players would ever want to win in March instead of October well, you'd know a thing or two about being an 'idiot.'
  15. Ask any player, they'd rather have a ring than a WBC trophy.
  16. I'll respond to this after I translate it into English. Should take awhile.
  17. What's at stake here? Nothing really. What's at stake during the regular season? A world championship, something every single player, from their earliest days of playing, wants to win.
  18. You won't hear any argument from me. Teams aren't countries, they aren't cities; they're groups of athletes who go out there and play a game.
  19. I love how you guys, and a few of these players, think they're actually doing something for their country by playing in this tournament. They're putting a uniform with their country's name on the front on and playing a game. It's meaningless. All these guys could be doing much more important things right now, like (for guys like Damon) getting adjusted to playing with new teams or (for the rest) getting back into shape with their teams. You know, what this time of the year is supposed to be about.
  20. Yes, playing for your country is meaningless.
  21. How would getting a hit in a meaningless game be 'coming through in the clutch?'
  22. Chacon is definitely earning his place in the rotation this spring...pitched 3 scoreless innings today, extending his scoreless innings streak to 8.
  23. Wat happened to the Eastern European?
