  2. Not going to lie, I'm not an expert on the Yankee farm system. But I do know that it is not nearly as bad as Red Sox fans wish it was.
  3. Of all the Yankee weaknesses to question, you question Mo? Sorry, that just gave me a good laugh. That's what happens when a relief pitcher is a starter for much of his career.
  4. Having an upset superstar should be great for the clubhouse (that's if he shows up for ST.) Just because you repeat something often doesn't make it true. Robinson Cano Chien Ming Wang Jason Anderson Colter Bean Matt Smith Sean Henn Melky Cabrera Andy Phillips Eric Duncan Bronson Sardinha T.J. Beam I rest my case.
  5. When we're talking about the 2006 season, absolutely. And when have I ever talked about 'those other 26 championships?' What? Actually, both teams have an almost identical number of players who are under 35 (Boston has 2 more, I beleive.)
  6. Not exactly a small problem for a pitcher and one that's not likely to be helped by moving to the North East.
  7. "We have the 2004 this...we have the 2003 that..." Awards from seasons two/three years ago mean jack in 2006.
  8. He's also a 9 time resident of the DL.
  9. You don't call losing the catalyst of your offense, losing your GM (who was one of the better minds in the game), trading one of your top prospects for an injury prone NL pitcher (you guys are like the Yankees!), a (it would seem) bumbling FO creating hole after hole on the field, and a rotation, which is shaky at best, not being bolstered...'falling apart?' Saying this off season will harm the Red Sox in 2006 isn't, necessarily, wishful thinking; saying they're on their way to winning an AL East title, in this condition, is.
  10. Change 'strained back and a pulled oblique' to 'blister and a ankle injury,' and the same can be said for Boston's rotation. I really think the article is decent until this line; it is backed up with alot of 'ifs' and seems to come more from his own personal bias (not the word I'm looking for, but I'm sure you all get what I'm trying to say) than logic/reality.
  11. Yup. On September 27, 1923...Lou Gehrig hit his first homerun at Fenway Park against the Red Sox (obviously.)
  12. Here's a pretty simple one: against which team did Lou Gehrig hit his first Major League home run? (I know I'm not a Sox fan, but I just like asking questions... )
  13. Then why are you devoting an entire post to us? If you don't care what someone has to say, ignore it. It's quite simple. :wtf: Just going to ignore this, because, frankly, I don't know where to start.
  14. http://img332.imageshack.us/img332/8979/palmeiropointing5we.jpg Never. Ever. Period.
  15. I had a 50/50 chance by agreeing with you...I liked those odds.
  16. That's it. (I think)
  17. I'm really starting to think about what our rotation is going to look like next year. There's 7 fully qualified starting pitchers on the team, but only 5 spots. Who gets them? Now, it's almost certainly (we're talking 99.99% here) guaranteed that Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina won't be going to the pen or be traded ...so there's two spots. With the bullpen taken care of (for the most part) and the hole in CF filled it's pretty certain that Jaret Wright and Carl Pavano won't be traded; I don't think the Yankees would trade either for bench depth or prospects, at this point. I don't see Pavano going to the pen, so there's one more spot. Wright could go to the pen, but I don't see that helping the team...as questionable (and unlucky!) as he was in 2005. I really would prefer if we go into Spring Training without Wright but, again, what would we get for him and would we need it? Then there's Small, Chien-Ming Wang, and Chacon. Small isn't going to be starting, I'd put money on that. The real question is who, assuming Wright stays in the rotation, gets the last spot. If I had to choose between Chien-Ming Wang and Chacon...I'm going with Chacon; I just, for some reason, feel better with Chacon on the mound instead of Chien-Ming Wang (probably due to Chien-Ming Wang's history of injuries.) Here's the rotation I want to go into Opening Day with: Randy Johnson Carl Pavano Mike Mussina Shawn Chacon Chien-Ming Wang/ Jaret Wright
  18. It's nice to see this thread which started about a completely meaningless topic (Damon's speaking habits) has devolved into a thread about another completely meaningless topic.
  19. Looks like Joe Torre won't be doing the "Joe Torre Report" anymore on the YES Post Game shows... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/377483p-320702c.html
  20. On a note somewhat related to the Yankees...today, I sent in my video and application to be on next year's Ultimate Road Trip. Am I the only Yankee fan on the forum who's done it?
  21. That feel good?
  22. This is just sort of sad.
  23. What he sounds like is about as important as what size pinstriped jersey he's going to wear... Oh well... whatever helps you guys...:dunno:
