    I wouldn't say he dominated. A lot of very hittable pitches that hitters missed. If he pitches like this all the time he will get hammered

    I've been asking the same thing. His fastball this game was actually weaker than his first game. If he has to pace himself because of last year than hes not worth what we paid him. with the extension he got if he can't go Cy mode than the contract is garbage

    It's still not something that's unheard of. Jacoby was the other one, how did that career ended up? Mookie Betts is definitely better that Ellsbury but I would like to see how he does this year and next year before they throw 300Mil at the guy. He's no Mike Trout yet. And Harper got overpaid so I wouldn't use that as a measure.

    I sure hope Sale gets back to pre injury velocity, otherwise it was a dumb move to give him 150 Mil. I mean he will have that nasty slider BUT he will be hittable if hes only throwing 91-93 range

    Porcello is not a 20 Mil pitcher. I'd pass on that. Take away his cy young season and his time with Boston has been meh. You don't pay someone ridiculous money just because they had ONE great season. I'd keep him on a deal similar to Eovaldi , that's it. Hes not worth anymore.

    I'm not concerned about letting porcello go. Aside from his CY young year hes been so darn inconsistent. Also leads mlb the last 2 years at giving up the long ball. I like the fact that hes reliable and eats up inning BUT hes not worth 20 million.

    Mookie has to prove he can do like last year again. Otherwise hes not getting no 300Mil contract. Trout is basically a 10 war player EVERY year ( Betts is not) . If Betts has a drop off this season like he did in 2017 its going to hurt him financially

    Harper wanted over 400M, he didn't get anywhere close to that.

    I don't understand the big deal of no opt out clause. Yeah sure he can't opt out but he wouldn't have opted out anyways as no one would give him a better deal that he has now anyways.

    Doubt it. He's only hit 40HR once and been over 30 another time in his career. I really don't get the hype for him. Aside from his mvp season he's been nothing special. He's a s***** defender and a terrible baserunner on top of that.

    If they both exceed 325 the GM's need to be fired. Yeah their young and so what? Their production is still not worth that. Harper is very inconsistent and is rated one of the worst base runners according to stat cast last year. His defense is nothing special. His value is his bat and he's an inconsistent hitter. You could maybe make a case for Manny due to his production for his position but last post season probably hurt his value a bit.

    Harper is 5 WAR player minus his MVP season. His base running sucks and his fielding is meh. that's not worth a 300M contract. His bat is his only value and he is too inconsistent with it. He goes into 2 weeks stretches without doing a damn thing multiple times yearly. Manny to me has higher value because of what he produces from his position.
