  1. Let's see what Harper and Machado get. That would give us an indication on Mookie. Imo people are over shooting Harper and Manny big time. If either one of them gets a 300M contract then the GM should probably get fired. They are way over hyped.
  2. Sale and porcello will be off the hook after this year so that 84 is only for this year. I highly doubt they keep both Sale and Porcello after this year
  3. This is bang on. The Sox would of won this year with or without Kimbrel. I wouldn't say he was awful the full year as he did have a decent year up until late in the year but I would prefer to let him go over signing a huge 5 year contract. Spending 15-20 MIL on a player that will only see about 60 ish innings is way too much.
  4. If they sign Kimbrel for a crazy contract you can kiss a few of the young players goodbye in the near future. I'd rather keep the young core together rather then breaking the bank on a closer who will be declining soon
  5. This doesn't make sense. So Bradley wins a gold glove but yet kiermaier wins defensive player of the year. What a joke. If kiermaier is defensive player of the year how did he not win the gold glove? Makes zero sense
  6. Harper turned down 10 years at 300 Million from Nationals. Consider yourself lucky Rizzo, he ain't worth anywhere close to that. And I cant believe any team would offer him 300M . Hes overrated
  7. Did you see betts stats in the playoffs?
  8. We'll never know. With the season betts had last year there was no guarantee he was going to have a big year like he did this year. Without adding JD the Sox don't win the World Series this year.
  9. I have to agree with Jacko and Billywilliams. Betts would not have had this type of season if they didn't sign JD. JD changed the whole lineup and made everyone better. The players have said that themselves.
  10. Well the AL finalist are from the top 3 WAR. I've said all along it would be between Trout and Betts
  11. Yeah I agree. I've said many times that Harper ain't nothing special. Aside from his one season that he had a 9 WAR hes been around 4 for his other seasons. I do not get the love for this guy. I also seen a graph that he was one of the worst base runners in the game this past season.
  12. Your just proving my point that the 2018 sox were better. If the 2004 team was better they wouldn't have to worry about playing game 6 and 7 on the road and would have won the division to begin with.
  13. No thanks on Cody Allen. I wouldn't mind Robertson. I'm iffy Britton.
  14. I definitely like the reliever idea. Never thought of that one
  15. There was a lot of weak teams in 2004 as well. Red Sox and Yankees were the only team above 500 in their division that year. It was a tougher division this year than It was in 2004. The central was weak that year and so was the west.
  16. But yes baseball is in trouble. If the red sox were not in the playoffs I'd have zero interest to watch any post season games. Games were constantly passed 4 hours. Too many time called, mound visits. They implemented mound visits but half of them don't count so it's useless. Switching the pitcher for every batter because of all the analytics. Shifts on players. Its beyond ridiculous. Players in the outfield have little cards that tells them were to play. I honestly wouldn't mind robo umps. It would eliminate the arguing and make the game go faster. They should also eliminate shift. The first basement and second basement should stay on their side and same with the 3rd basement and shortstop. Otherwise they are no longer playing their positions.
  17. I seriously do not get the love for Harper. Aside from his 2015 season he's been nothing spectacular. Trout is way better and is not even getting close to that money. I don't even see how he can get 250M
  18. I don't know how this is a great deal for LA. Kershaw is past his prime and declining.
  19. I can't believe people are still discussing this. The 2004 team was Inconsistent. This year's team rolled from start to finish. They were so good that I was shocked when they lost a game. They were never in any danger at any point in the season. The 2004 teams had a lot of doubts. They didn't start playing good till the end of season. On August 6 they were just 9 games above 500. NINE. It took a stolen base from Robert's to force a game 5. It took 14 innings to force a game 6. It took arods purse slap to force a game 7. Last time the sox were 9 games above 500 this year was way back in April 13 There were never in any danger in the playoffs
  20. You do realize that the seating capacity is MUCH higher in Yankee stadium right?
  21. This year's Colorado team was overrated. Their run differential was in the negative until like the last month of the season. As soon as they hit the playoffs they promptly lost every game without much of a fight.
  22. Yeah don't me get started on the NHL. It should be wins or losses and none of this loser in overtime gets a points. It's like my God, you lost the game in overtime, here's a point for your effort to get into overtime. Play like the nba and MLB. Play till there's a winner of the game and don't give out a point for losing the game, christ! Feels like I'm watching kids play, oh here's a participation banner for making it to overtime. Almost every year there is a team benefiting from these overtime loss points when they shouldn't.
  23. Its foolish to pay someone 20 MIL a year for 5 years who only gives you about 65 innings a year. I'd rather pass and give the job to either Kelly, brasier or barnes.
  24. And price made that reference holding the cards because of his recent post season success. He was referring to the reporters and doubters. He now holds the card as he proved them wrong and they can't use that against him. He was not referring to his current salary / contract situation
