  1. lol, u went to sleep right after the game!? i know you're back east but c'mon...with all the smack you were running before the game, i thought you'd come in and eat crow sooner, but whatever. ...anyway, its not like you're the first person to feel confident about their team only to have them lose...dude relax, just glad to see you give credit where its due.
  2. ROFL!!! where the f*** is crunchy now? he was the one leading the pack of myopic fans with the needless insults to dungy and manning... and as much as i hate peyton and the colts...i was rooting like crazy that they'd win and put a dent in brady's post-season record. how f***ing priceless was it that their season ended on an interception since that's how it should have ended last weekend....talk about irony! i get that the chicago defense came out to play and dominated, but this is a different game if it was played on either a neutral site (with weather not being a factor) or in a dome. that field was so s***** it was ridiculous...did you see how bad people were sliding and falling all over the place? i thought the saints had a chance...especially since they had the momentum goin into the half...but after that TD pass to berrian early in the 4th, i just knew it was over...after seeing the final score im glad i stopped watching. that being said...i probably will pay more attention to the commercials than the actual game itself since i couldnt give a s*** about chicago...and as for indy, i could live with peyton getting one ring in his career, if only to enhance the rivalry.
  3. yeah tell me about it...i never used andro myself, but for awhile me and my dad were using creatine regularly when we'd hit the gym, up until they started linking health problems (liver or kidney damage?) if you use it all the time. my pops had cancer about 8-10 years ago and they had to remove a kidney and part of his bladder, so needless to say, he was advised to either use it very sparingly, or not at all.
  4. yeah, some idiots voters need their ballots taken from them. i mean if a guy is an obvious HOF, who honestly cares if he gets a unanimous vote and other old timers didnt...so what, all it proves is that there has always been some ******* baseball writer who probably had a grudge/bias against certain obvious HOF'ers and refused to vote for them. as for mac, someone please feel free to correct me if im wrong, but i thought the only thing he admitted to using was andro and creatine (misc. bodybuilding suppliments), but there was no proof that he took steriods? while steroids were illegal per the federal governement, only the IOC banned andro out of all of the professional sports leagues out there.
  5. i agree that he straddles the tampering line but isnt dumb enough to get caught red handed...so it becomes a topic for speculation....the only other reason i can think of for having drew opt out is that next year's FA group will be better than this year (Wells & Jones off the top of my head) and no way he get a contract close to what they will get...might as well take advantage of the limited supply & huge demand.
  6. ...great song! we may get along yet!
  7. yes, but like jacksonian said, no one could have predicted the market where medicore players were going to get more than 10-mil per, and for a guy coming off his first relatively injury-free and slightly above average production, you're gonna tell me he knew he was gonna get better than the 5 year 55 mil he signed for!? love or hate him, one thing boras isn't is stupid... he'll hedge his bets however way he can... your gonna tell me next that on a leap of faith he knew he could get 70 mil for drew where 2 years ago boston couldnt afford 55 mil that he got from the dodgers? and this is on top of still conducting negotiations for matsuzaka and possibly gagne!
  8. honestly, as pissed off as Ned is at Boras, (see Ned going out of his way not to deal with ANY of Boras' clients this offseason) in the end, we got rid of someone who didnt want to be here, and have another reason not to deal with him or his clients in the future...win-win for the dodgers...which is why i don't think a complaint will be made.
  9. hahahaha....cant help it..everytime i see classy, i think of, "You stay classy San Diego". as far as sox fans not jumping all over each other...what board are you at? iv'e seen so many instances here, i can't even begin to quote them...for some of the better ones, just refer to the fights/crap forum. i may be a sox fan, but that doesnt mean im going to agree or go along with what everyone else thinks/says/etc.
  10. how so? seems to me linda is merely trying to clear the air and offer a peaceful solution/compromise.
  11. agreed....i still think all this does is just add depth on the bench as either a PH or to spot start. shy of kemp/ethier regressing, i can't see him as a regular starter...with all the surplus outfilelders and starting pitchers something tells me we can expect a trade closer to the all star break or trading deadline.
  12. you need to check yourself seabiscuit...fyi, moose, as well as myself joined here long before you ran here with your tail between your legs from the DB site. therefore it stands to reason that we did not follow you and make it a habit to torment you...but the minute you start spouting off inane, hell... retarded takes on the dodgers and their players...believe me, that definitely will warrant a comment or two... furthermore, i may never have felt the need to pile on in the past, just cause it's normally not my style, but one piece of advice i can give is before you pass judgement on any group of people...make sure you get your facts correct. not all of us at DB are the monsters/troglodytes you paint us to be. is dodgerblues a typical fan forum? not really...especially when what you are used to is a niiiiiiccceee forum where everyone mostly gets along and is friendly... what DB is (to educate everyone else here) about, is a place where dodger fans can come together and bitch about the team, the FO, the players, and the frustration of being a 'hardcore' fan without all the censorship and intimidation of conformity present on other sites. in other words, its a fan site that definitely is 'R' rated, and on some occasions, NC-17. taking nothing away from this site, but if you have thin-skin or a weak stomach, it may not be for you...but when you join a site like that, and start posting personal information about yourself, and generally getting on everyone's bad side...well...i think you get the idea.
  13. i think its hilarious that everyone except the admin(s) themselves have an opinion on this and have already seemed to have passed judgement without listening to both sides. from the posts i personally read, linda here only posted on threads re: ex-dodger players and offered his/her opinion on those transactions. its funny that i've seen chokee trolls flaming and getting flamed on this site but someone who allegedly uses a handle that was part of an inside-joke from another forum is automatically banned without warning??
  14. hahaha. owned.
  15. bills and kemp most likely will be avail., broxton, loney and laroche might be tougher to pry out of LA. i also know we'd love nothing better than to get rid of penny, but assuming we might have to take clement in exchange, i dont see that part of the deal happening. though, if by giving up loney, we dont have to give up as many prospects, that might be enough to get it done.
  16. dont kid urself about there being no connection. drew is all but a lock at this point, per espn, and as soon as he signs on the dotted line, manny is gone! are the two directly related? no, but a strong correlation nonetheless. and if the dodgers are able to offer a better package for manny than the geriactric giants and their empty cupboard of prospects, then you can almost make a case for a 'drew for manny plus extras' deal going down.
  17. ^^^ about sums up feelings towards nancy and his arthritic vagina on the dodgerblues site. check out http://www.dodgerblues.com/fanforum/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7194 and http://www.dodgerblues.com/fanforum/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7149 for a sample of the threads on this guy and his act. i know the FA market is thin, but you gotta be kidding you are seriously willing to pay more than 11 mil. per, for a .280 hitter with 20 HR and 100 unimpressive rbi? like i said, im torn since as a dodgerfan im ecstatic, but as a soxfan im crossing my fingers this doesnt happen, but accepting that it probably will.
  18. i can tell you as a dodgerfan, him opting out was the BEST X-MAS present EVER!!! never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined nancy-boy exercising his escape claus. the only thing that breaks my heart is news that he'll be joining the sox soon. wait...so let me get this straight...you are willing to trade manny and take jd-made-of-glass-drew and his strikeout pose!?!? ned...is that you secretly running the red sox front office??? or did maybe depodesta's laptop convince you all this is a better lineup?
  19. one thing is over-paying for all-star level talent, but spending this kind of ridiculous jack for a middle of the road, slightly above medicore player is just plain stupid. shame on you bill stoneman and artie moreno.
  20. as a dodger fan, im pretty happy with the wolf signing...especially since he's giving us the hometown discount and we're not on the hook for several years if he's a bust. i see it as insurance for not resigning maddux...as for baez...meh...good riddance!
  21. ironic seeing as how he was traded from the cardinals in the first place for edmonds...but whatever...anaheim has been grooming his replacement this past season...
  22. im not myopic in thinking we still had a shot a the division, but i thought we were supposed to win 2/3 if not sweep the mariners? http://www.mixxer.com/download/personal/42e52e63ba9c42825f24cff1bec3dc55.gif/suicide2_gif.gif
  23. i dont think its completely impossible...the angels are 6-6 head to head against them, even when they had an unstable rotation...but with 7 games left to go against them, and with the pitching in better shape, if they can get their bats heated up and win or split the bulk of series leading up to those games, they still have a chance. the A's are not the yanks, and therefore i doubt they'll pull away completely.
