  1. washburn isn't what i consider a dominant consistent pitcher and chacon has been arguable the most reliable yankee pitcher since joining the team. can't see angels sweeping ny at home, but thats why they play the games eh?
  2. whatever. i'm just glad this debacle of a team is finally over.we'll see if this lights the fire under theo's ass to go out and get what we need to put us over the top. outside of manny and papi, they all need to look at themselves in the mirror and ask if they gave it their all and earned their $$$.
  3. errors aside, its been a great series. pitching has made all the difference, and if LAA meets CHW, I guarantee they are going to find runs harder to come by than the batting practice our pitchers were throwing them. If NYY meets CHW, well, they might have to rely on outscoring them with that pitching. Unlike us, NYY actually have more than 2 guys who can hit it out for them and have a better shot to outscore them. Outside of Rivera and Moose (who's still not 100%) rotation is shaky...we'll see...should be interesting!
  4. actually, i do care...nothing brings me more joy seeing nyy lose in the playoffs. that s*** never gets old! here's to LAA going all the way to the WS!
  5. i'm a sore loser. so sue me. i couldn't give a s*** if all you were doing was congratulating the better team. when i see yankee fans cheering in yankee stadium over the last out of our season, you think i'm not going to laugh when rj goes out and gets pwned? stop worrying about me and my comments and worry about your pitching instead. :harhar:
  6. you know what else would be funny? the angels walk in and take the next 2 out of 3. FREAKING HILARIOUS!
  7. i'd be laughin if i wasn't a red sox fan right now...anyone ever hear of a thing called a sac fly? suicide squeeze!? f***ing DO something! s***, HOW MANY OPPORTUNITES DO WE GET LIKE THAT?
  8. f***ing taKE a cue from the halos and learn to MANUFACTURE runs instead of waiting for manny or papi to hit one out! dammit this game is taking years off my life...
  9. F U C K M E ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! Aaarrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. how the hell do you not cash in at least 1 run w/bases loaded???!??!?!?!
  11. f***ing a....a squeeze would have been nice...s***!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. we gotta get at least 1 right here
  13. and at the risk of inserting foot into mouth....where the f*** is our vaunted and feared offense??? you can't honestly expect me to believe chicago's pitching is that dominant....
  14. it is when you run into better pitching and cannot rely on your offense to bail you out. goddamit! it may not be his fault the team is down 0-2, but this isn't the kind of dominant game you need from starter to set the tone.
  15. how was that a decent outing for a game that we absolutely need to have? i know you can never tell what kind of game your gonna get from wake, and yes i am aware he was one of our better pitchers in the rotation-but you throw out all stats in an elimination game...
  16. huh? the game? well considering it was a close game for much of the night, I'd guess alot of people with an interest in either team or for a good playoff game that wasn't decided until late in the game. being on the west coast it was win/win for me.
  17. uh, did u even see who won last year's nl cy-young? RJ was flat out more dominant and impressive and still lost to Clemens who had more wins...I'm not saying its right or wrong, but there clearly is precidence over how cy-young is decided.
  18. Its still possible to win 3 in a row against this team, especially considering we matched up well against them earlier in the season, but I don't know. Just because you can come back facing elimination, it doesn't mean its a given. I'm sick and tired of the assumption that last year was a blank check for all future playoff series and we can spot any team 2 or 3 wins. Here's something to consider, last year we had a much stronger, reliable rotation with Schilling, Pedro, and Lowe. Yes, Lowe wasn't great during the season, but he was lights out (unlike Clement getting his head kicked in) in the playoffs. It goes without sayin this year's Schilling is nowhere in the area code of last year's Schilling and like him or not, O-Cab got us the clutch base hits when we needed it. Would Cabrera knocked in Graffi last night? Who knows, but for the love of God, please stop comparing last year's special team with this one. They are NOT the same. As for that smug jackass Guillen...
  19. lmao. But seriously, I don't think its that the NY offense is playing like s*** so much that angel pitching is getting the job done. I'd be worried more if the angel offense started to heat up.
  20. I'll agree Rivera should get consideration, in fact I'd run him a close second to Colon. 21-8 / 3.48 for a team that had nowhere near the offensive production as previous angel teams. Vlad was the only player with more than 17 HR so its not like he was able to rely on that offense to win him games.
  21. To a large extent I agree with almost everything said. Last I checked, Showalter is no longer on the yankee payroll, therefore he doesn't owe anything to NY. His team was already eliminated and as manager, its his discretion how he wants to handle his lineup. Furthermore, unless there is concrete evidence his moves were made to directly affect the outcome of the playoff position of certain teams, it is highly irresponsible and bush-league to call out his integrity...something A-Rod is familiar with. But I digress...How many opportunities did NY waste against the bottomfeeders of the AL (KC, Tampa, etc.)? Likewise, Boston should have had this division wrapped up weeks ago but continued to let NY creep back in with inconsistent pitching despite the incredible offensive output. As much as I personally cannot stand either Torre or Rodriguez, you have to respect them and the team for turning around a season where they were going nowhere fast. Unlike the sox they got hot at the right time and put together great hitting with some consistent pitching (our achilles heel). As far as the whining, A-Rod should just stfu and concentrate on playing who's in front of you. For such and great player with HOF talent he manages to whine like a little bitch and sometimes shows the mental toughness of a wet noodle. He's earned all his individual awards (MVP's) but I think its funny how all his former teams managed to do just fine offensively without him. :harhar:
  22. what a waste of an otherwise good pitching performance from wang...
  23. 3 errors! plus hr from molina makes it 5-2 angels in the 9th
