  1. OH MAN. To think that the Sox were that close to having Albert Pujols makes me angry.
  2. So since the Sox are going to covert Papelbon so a starter what is the Rotation going to look like next year. As of right now I am thinking that it would be 1. Curt Schilling 2. Josh Beckett 3. Tim Wakefield (If he's healthy or the Sox bring him back) 4. Jonathan Papelbon 5. Kyle Snyder/Matsuzaka
  3. I agree Papelbon is going to be here for a very very very long time. He's going to oneday be the Ace of this Sox staff in the not too distant future.
  4. Wow that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
  5. Good he deserves to be fired for the stupid comments that he made. I'm glad that Fox canned him. Good luck to him getting a job anywhere else.
  6. Pinella to the Cubs. Im confused I never though he'd go to that team. Not really a contending team. But he may turn the team around who knows only time will tell.
  7. Tonight's game was cancelled due to rain and will be made up tommorow. Thought I was going to end up missing this game because of work but since it's been pushed back a day I'll be able to see it tommorow. I would have thought that the Cards would win this one because Glavine was on short rest but now that he's got that extra day, I think the Mets will take this game Beltran and Delgado have been hitting well in this series and if the Weaver can't find a way to stop them tommorow then this is going to be another blowout. Mets will take it 8-4. And go up in the series 3-2.
  8. Welcome I look forward to posting with you.
  9. Ok thanks that clears things up for me. Lugo would be good but he may be a bit too much money. Gonzo is prolly a better choice at short even though he didn't seem to have a stellar bat this year he has an insane glove back there. Who knows well have to wait and see.
  10. Game 3 is going to be interesting. Harden is making his first start this postseason and Kenny Rogers is making his second. Don't really know what Harden is going to bring to the table but if Rogers brings what he brought againt the Yankees then the A's are in serious trouble and could be down 3-0 in this series. I'm liking the Tigers in this one just because Rogers was nasty his last start and like I said if he brings that stuff again the Tigers will be hard to beat. Final Score: Tigers 6, A's 2
  11. Game 1 was a close one. It was a well pitched game by both starters and Jeff Weaver has surprised me in the playoffs considering that he wasn't that great during the regular season but he really picked his stuff up. The only mistake Weaver made was that two run shot he gave up to Beltran in the 6th inning. But with the way that Tom Glavine pitched last night it was enough runs for the Mets to beat the Cards. And of course Wagner came in and dominated in the 9th like he's done for the Mets most of the year. I still stand by my decision that the Cards will win this series in 7 games. After all last night was only the first game. I was hoping to catch game 2 of this series but of course I have to work the night shift tonight so I won't see it but at least I'll catch some of the Tigers and A's game before I leave.
  12. I've been wondering something for awhile and I just wanted to know if anyone knew the answer. I was wondering what is going to happen with Dustin Pedroia next year. Are the Sox going to let go of Loretta and keep Pedroia or are they going to sign Loretta and send Pedroia down to AAA Pawtuckett.
  13. Lenny Dinardo is on the team too. The Javelins won today 17-15 and Ellsbury went 1-4 with an RBI in the game too. The team is now 2-2. Does anyone know where George Kottaras is going to play next year hes a prospect im very much intersted in and going to be watching and I hope to see him playing for the Red Sox in the big leagues soon.
  14. Wow he really wants out of Washington. It would be nice to see him with the Sox but I can't see them pursuing this guy just because he wants too much money. Wouldn't be surprised though if the Yankees went after him again. He's going to be one pricey player and to be honest with you I think the Yankees are the only team who will pay what he wants.
  15. The Sox need to pick this guy up. From what we saw in the World Baseball Classic he is pretty solid when he has to be I mean common the guy was 3-0 in the tournament and was the MVP of the tournament. If the Sox were to sign him would he be a starter or is it possible that he would be the Sox closer next year.
  16. Who cares if he wasn't some superstar player. The fact is that he was a human being and he lost his life so very tragically and now his wife no longer has a husband and his son just lost his father at 6 years old. The fact that he is a person is enough just because he is Cory Lidle and not Derek Jeter doesn't mean we should feel remource any less for his friends and family. Do you even know how it feels to loose your father because I do. My father passed 5 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him and miss him. So maybe you should be a little nicer about things because you never know when something like this could happen to you. He is a human being not just some baseball player. You honestly have no heart whatsoever. Seems to me like you think about yourself and not others.
  17. The Sox need to go after Justin Speier for sure and seeing as how Papelbon is going to become a starter next year the Sox need to try and pull off a trade with the Astros for Brad Lidge we need to have another solid closer in there Foulke surely isn't the guy and Craig Hansen isn' t ready to close out games full time hopefully in another year or two he will be ready. I also think the Sox need to re-sign Mike Timlin as well.
  18. Yankees fan not only do they have 26 World Series Titles but they haven't missed the playoffs in like what more than 9 years. When you are a Yankees fan your team seems to make it into the playoffs every year no matter how they do it they always find a way.
  19. Wow this series is shocking so far Tigers are up 2-0 going back to Detroit. Could we be seeing a sweep. These guys weren't even supposed to beat the Yankees now they are only 2 wins away from being in the World Series. Can't wait for Game 3 it's going to be a good one.
  20. I heard about this earlier and I am still in shock what a tragedy. My prayers go out to Cory's family and friends. RIP Cory you were a good guy and you will be missed.
  21. Why would u fire Joe Torre when he's given your team 9 straight Division titles and taken the team to a World Series championship multiple times. I think if the Yankees fire Torre it will be the biggest mistake the Yankees can make and I don't see how Lou Pinella will do any better than Torre then again we have heard this how many times that Torre was gone and he's still around.
  22. I think the Tigers will take this series in 5. I dunno I can't really see Oakland playing at the same level as Detroit in this one. Plus Detroit pitching mowed down the Yankees offence which was the scariest lineup in the majors and they have all the momentum going into this series.
  23. Cardinals in 7. Even though the Cards aren't as good as they have been I still see them being able to overcome the Mets because of the fact that the Mets have 2 of their best pitchers out and now they won't have Cliff Floyd either. I just see the injuries to the Mets becoming a factor in this one. Pujols is going to have a huge series. I think he's going to own Mets pitching. The Cards will make their 2nd trip to the World Series in the last three years.
  24. To quote the announcer on the YES network. THEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES LOSE. I'm sorry but I had to say it. I love it seeing the Yankees go out and put together what they all thought was the team and to hear George say that THIS IS THE YEAR, only to have the Yankees knocked outta the playoffs I mean common what more can you ask for. This year wasn't so bad after all.
  25. I have no complaints about the guy. Yea he was shaky at some points this year but he was still a good starter for the Sox. And I think next year he will only be better.
