  1. He started his career as a starter. Below Average.
  2. Nathan has 27 saves on a team with more wins.
  3. Great lets just move him back and forth. That only ruined hundreds of pitchers.
  4. Not being able to throw accurate, and having movement on your fastball are different things.
  5. But we had him in 2005.
  6. Yet they managed to not win a World Series, and the only year they did ... 2004 ... they had a lights out closer.
  7. You can put movement on your pitches. Schilling's and Wells' fastballs have movement.
  8. I doubt we're going to get anything in return ... which is why I don't understand trading him.
  9. Agreed. Although I don't ever think he'll be that successful anywhere. He really only has 2 pitches, and clearly can't stay healthy.
  10. Again, he would never come out and say that because he doesn't want to get plowed by the NY Media.
  11. Like I just said, why would he say it publically? The NY Media can ruin your life (See: ARod).
  12. Hitting isn't our problem. We didn't fall out of first place because of hitting. Pitching is our problem, and giving up a starter, and a reliever to get ANOTHER bat would be completely moronic. If we traded for Abreu at the time our rotation would have been ... Schilling, Beckett, Johnson, Gabbard, Pauley ... or Snyder.
  13. Saying you do not want to pitch for the Yankees, isn't the same as saying you never want to pitch for the Yankees again? The only difference is the word never. BTW do you honestly think he'd be honest to the NY Media? I seriously doubt he wanted to get raped by them.
  14. Name a 3rd basemen we could sign, that is going to put up better numbers than Lowell. I'd love for you to name the 3B you'd like to see replace him. There are less than a handfull of guys in the league better, and most won't be traded. Yes you can get "A" closer. Not the best closer in the game. Ask the 2005 Red Sox the difference between just having a closer, and having a great closer ... then ask the 2004 Sox. Paps purpose is to be there to make sure we win games that we have the lead in. Aren't you frustrated watching our numerous relievers blow game after game after game after game? Now lets just throw one of them in there as a closer and move Paps to the rotation. Maybe we get 10 more quality starts, but I'll assure you that we'd have 15-20 less wins. You don't realize how important a closer is until you don't have one, and the 2005 Sox. This is may be a .500 team without Paps closing. That's great, but clearly he's no where near ready to take that job.
  15. Yeah I have a link for a news story from Spring Training. Let me just pul that out of my ass.
  16. That 10 for 20 doesn't mean s*** when we can't pitch. None of his numbers mean anything. We're losing because we can't pitch ... not because we can't hit.
  17. He needs to find a way to put some movement on it. It's not about location ... it's about his fastball going dead straight. There's no easier pitch to hit than a straight fastball ... obviously.
  18. He said. I don't want to pitch in NY anymore.
  19. Didn't we learn at the begining of this season that any decent defensive catcher can't catch Wake? Why the f*** would you trade Youk? What the f*** would you trade him for? He plays awesome defense ... at 1st or 3rd. And he can hit. I can assure you we couldn't get anyone better than Youk for him. It's not exactly eating when a guy is hitting almost .300 and playing gold glove defense. I'd keep all, but Coco. If we can get anyone to hit at the top of the lineup and play OF I'm for it. Why? We have the best closer in the game ... why would you want him to just be another good starter?
  20. Why did the Yankees expect to get Pavano back? I thought he made it very clear in the offseason that he never wanted to pitch for the Yankees again. They're stupid for expecting him to ever come back.
  21. Kevin Millwood's numbers go better.
  22. heh good thing we're not all eating Red Sox stew ... it'd start looking like Ethiopia around here.
  23. "f***ing idiot." is a sentence.
  24. The best part is that the ingredients we're missing change every night. Sometimes we're unhittable but we can't score a run, then the next night we can't get an out but we score 10 runs. Is there anything more frustrating?
