  1. they really are taking good swings against Beck
  2. So the team we are currently chasing, has just released him, because they felt he wasnt good enough to be on their team. Why would Boston want to pick up the trash they just got rid of after Texas just passed them in the standings? Is he really that much better? If he were a decent option, wouldnt have Texas just held on to him, rather than seeing him sign with the team they are competing with for the WC? EDIT: Gunna throw this in there, why did Texas release him? I was just going over their starting pitchers, seems to me he was one of their top 5......why cut him?
  3. Not on his terms, I think the sox will decline their part of the mutual option, leaving wake to either sign somewhere else, or hang them up. He wont pitch for another team other than Boston.
  4. Tlev
  5. this has to be castigs, and it is hilarious.
  6. Yeah, he also realized his mistake in terms of Lugo, sucked it up and cut dead weight.
  7. Oh boy, here it comes......
  8. I wish we kept LaRoche, I think Theo botched something there, those series of events at the deadline still baffle me.
  9. Its hard to find evidence of slowing down for a catcher, we know first hand. Vtek was very good in 05, bad in 06, rebound year in 07, then fell off the map.
  10. I suggested him at the deadline, and got a lot of grief for it. Since the deadline he has done very well, we lost out.
  11. I think that this will eventually happen, maybe not this offseason though. They have bigger needs than finding another catcher so the current one can move to 1B.
  12. welcome.
  13. I think they will follow through, I hope so......the content of the site has gone down in recent months (course of the last year or so). Hopefully this leads to some changes that need to be made for the forum to move forward in a productive positive direction. Member seem to forget, minus the yankee fans....we are all posting on this website for the same cause.....our interest and devotion to the RedSox. We wouldnt insult each other if we were sitting in a bar, or sitting next to each other in Fenway park, why do it here when we all want to see the same thing.....the Sox succeed.
  14. I agree. If he is still having this sort of an output which lasts til next years trade deadline, he might be done here. Not sure if they would do an all out release, but he wont be receiving full time ABs anymore.
  15. No, im frustrated with the SS ordeal. Nothing more. Dont put words in my mouth.
  16. Troy Tulowitzki......I would like to see him solve our SS problems. Might have some trouble getting him since COL is contending this season, and may be unwilling to part with him.
  17. My frustration isnt based solely on this season. I didnt want to see Ocab go, but obv he had to with the whole Keith Foulke thing. Fine I didnt want Hanley Ramirez to get traded, but understood what the trade brought us back (WS title) I was excited when they got Renteria. I didnt want to see Renteria go. He was horrible defensively, but he was still useful offensively, and I really thought his defense was an aberration. I didnt want to see Gonzalez go. Best ive ever seen with the glove, obviously hes aged. He was bad offensively, but not to the levels of this season although his OB numbers were atrocious. He did hit 9 HR and have 50 RBIS, while not the most telling offensive stats when you look at his OB production numbers, but we knew what we were getting, so I think he outperformed expectations. I was pissed off when they got Lugo, I never liked him, and Im pissed off they got rid of him. Lowrie was a nice surprise last year, but ill give him the benefit of doubt and say injuries have robbed him off anything he was capable of doing. The Woodward deal was reactionary to Lowrie getting DL'd, Gonzalez was reactionary to Lowrie as well as looked at as an improvement to Woodward. Its just a whole frustrating series of events.
