  1. I agree with that. I have no problem with keeping certain guys. There is no reason to hold on to them all. Not if that is what its going to take to get AGON.
  2. AGON Heath Bell One of their BP arms (Gregerson, Thatcher, Adams, Mujica, Webb) for DiceK (waives NTC) Scutaro Kalish Anderson Doubront The we turn around and sign Cliff Lee!!!!!!!! Bonerjam!!!!
  3. Varitek is coming back. They reached an agreement for 1 year, 2M today. That means a couple of things with the Russell Martin rumors. Either Salty is being shopped or the rumors were not true to begin with regarding Martin.
  4. If Beltre comes back.....then I HATE the Ortiz deal because it handcuffed us with Dunn. I think AGON is no longer an option in Boston if Beltre signs a long term here. If Beltre does re-sign, then our best option was Dunn for the future at 1B/DH. Let me explain: Agon is not going to DH. He is a great 1B'man. Youk is not going to DH. He is excellent at one position and more than serviceable at the other. Beltre is not going to DH. He is one of the best at his position. A few years down the road Beltre would be a great fit at DH. Problem is, AGON is available right now possibly, and definitely in the off-season. Beltre re-signing might be a road block for AGON. Dunn was a natural fit for DH after this season.
  5. Where do you live? If you live in my area and have a clean criminal record send me a PM and I will give you my phone number. It might be a little bit different work than you are used to....but we are putting through academies in the next year or so. A job is a job. Gimme 3 minutes on the phone, I can tell you whether or not you can do it
  6. Sounds like Damon is begging for a job. Too many burned bridges Johnny Boy. Jeter will find his way back to NY because he was loyal to them all along. Who were you loyal to Johnny Boy? Sounding a little desperate these days. Maybe blocking that deal to Boston wasnt in your best interest after all.
  7. What about Pat Burrell on short money to play 1B on the meantime? I know the favorite is Derek Lee, but I just dont see him signing here for a short deal regardless of his age and injury history.
  8. Do we ever stay on topic?
  9. I echo this statement. How do you not drive in 100 runs in that lineup? I know its a "dated" stat, but I just dont understand how that happens. I think they will end up regretting signing him. I also agree with the Crawford statement. Do you really want Ellsbury, Drew, Crawford and Ortiz (all lefties) all in the same lineup going against Sabathia, Lee (assuming they get him) and Pettitte? I really dont like this FA market. The sox arguably had the 2 best offensive free agents in their hands and let them walk. They were better off resigning V-Mart...offering Pat Burrell a short term deal.....picking up some bullpen arms and trying to trade for Adrian Gonzalez.
  10. Only reason I bumped this thread was because of the semi-funny toucher and rich piece on him.....it has actually led to some good conversation haha.
  11. hahahahaha.....classic
  12. Does anyone still have the famous "screen shot" of his desktop????
  13. I feel like you will be able to figure it out pretty easily!!!
  14. Not sure you needed to open a new thread for this. The Beckett and Hanley deal was made AFTER he left, not before. Pretty much I cant argue with much of what you say. A little bit of a knee-jerk but much of this is stuff I have said myself. Theo is a good GM....hed be an AWESOME GM for the Twins or the A's. Im just not sure he is the right GM for this franchise.
  15. I posted this a week ago. Today they told Jeter to test the market. Why not test the waters? If only to piss NY off...
  16. Thats assuming the Sox spend the money on Gonzalez. Since when is that a lock? We are banking them making a deal that might never happen. Soxfan is just an idiot and doesnt understand football. See in football, we have this little thing called a salary cap which prohibits over spending. Winningest franchise since 1994, did I mention that already? Coulda sworn I did, that or you just cant read.
