  1. Why does everyone want to screw around with the lineup? Leave it alone, they are FINALLY starting to come together as an offensive unit. Crawford will not hit 8th all season long and I suspect when they do move him up, its not going to be any higher than 6. Stop saying "we didnt pay this guy 142 million to hit sixth", because you are right. We didnt pay him, you didnt, I didnt.....the Redsox did. They foolishly paid him a ton of money that a traditional slugger would make. There is nothing wrong with him hitting 6th.
  2. 6th makes more sense than 2nd.
  3. They have speed at the top. Its Ellsbury. The top 5 guys should be hitting 1-5, Crawford isnt one of them. They could move him up, to #7......if that makes you feel better than 8.
  4. Members defending the Dice-K signing???? oy-vey. On the bright side, we might actually never see him on the mound again depending on the status of his ulner collateral ligament. Dice-K clogged up payroll, clogged up a spot in the rotation, clogged up a roster spot, clogged up counts, clogged up bases and probably clogged up a few toilets while wiping his ass with RedSox money he never earned.
  5. No, keep him where he is for now. Papi looks really good at 5, and he may take it as an insult to be moved to 6th to move a guy up in the order still hitting under .240. Youkilis, Gonzalez and Ortiz have been absolutely on fire over the last 10 games. Leave them alone.
  6. LOL.... To get a decent reliever at the deadline, teams overspend.....most times a top 5 minor leaguer, not insult them with players like Lars.
  7. Nope. Ive rode Salty all season, and hes starting to turn things around as well. Both catchers are hitting the ball well. I still think that there is something to say about Variteks knowledge and defensive abilities. Becketts season thus far is a far cry from last year throwing to Vmart (who I wanted to be re-signed) Before tonight, Beckett had a 1.38 ERA this season over 52.1 Innings with a 3.69 K to BB ratio while allowing hitters a .171 BAA and .230 OBP% Thats pretty insane.
  8. I can agree with this.....I guess
  9. Suns is an idiot. I think he was a Sox fan last year. Its pretty weak that Guardians fans come over here to troll. Sellout your own stadium before you run your mouths. For that matter, create your own forum that doesnt absolutely suck before you come here and litter ours.
  10. All these tribe fans, yet at the beginning of the season they were drawing about 10,000 fans a night. All aboard!!!!!!!! Tribe Wagon coming through!!!!!! Hell, best record in baseball and they STILL CANT sell out.
  11. BRUINS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. This is why I thought it was so funny. In the end, everything he does is unpredictable. I am assuming air pressure inside of a dome is minimal, as it is climate controlled. When was that book written? I am assuming in the earlier 80's before the effect of a dome has on the pitch, otherwise it would explain a possible reason that in Wakefield case, he tends to do well in a controlled artificial setting. EDIT: Looked it up, written in 2006. Does it have any explanations about domes?
  13. Salty with home run #2. Iv'e bashed him all year long. Credit where it is do, I dont hide when I make my strong statements/comments/posts, especially since I can be condescending at times. I could say that Lester hasn't looked comfortable throwing to him, but thats petty. The kid's approach has been much better offensively. I said before, offense wasn't the issue. People predicted that he'd hit. Defense is what was killing him because he wasn't doing ANYTHING with the bat. At least he is starting to justify his AB's now.
  14. I love interleague play. I love seeing teams/players that we dont usually see. I also love when the teams like the Braves/Mets/Phillies wear their throwback uniforms. Novelty? Yeah, but for the most part, they are easy wins for us
  15. Dont sell Burkhart short man, he was a beast at times in the minors. In the end, both AAAA players.
  16. Bowden has been given a few opportunities over the past couple of seasons to do something. Everytime he comes up, its the same old garbage. He is only a 23 year old pitcher in the minors, but his career appears to be ending up as a AAAA pitcher. He might have some usefullness as a reliever, but hes been a disappointment as a starting pitcher. He is at this point, only relieving in the minors. At 23 years old, I would say they have given up on him as a starting pitcher.
  17. I am not sure 100% there are better options out there in terms of FA. My take on Pedro returning is a selfish one. I do not want to see him fail, and I think he will fail. He got the most he could out of that 5'10 165 LB body. Hes all done in terms of a successful pitcher. You could argue he was done after the 2005 season (6 years ago) with the Mets, and if you look deeper, the last dominant season he had was in 2003 as he became very hittable in 2004. That was 8 years ago. He doesnt have the stuff he used to, at this point I would say hes throwing MAYBE mid 80's. He hasnt played competitive ball in months so he will be rusty and you cant be rusty playing in Fenway. You cant throw 84-85 MPH and make mistakes. Mistakes in the AL east are wallballs and homers. This isnt PHI. This isnt the weak hitting NL. There might not be a "better" option, but that doesnt mean that Pedro is a good one either. Do you want to see him tarnish all the great things he did in a Sox uniform?
