  1. Pussy. You are making very specific accusations here.... strong statements if you will. I'm engaging in the debate you have set. Don't back away when something as inconvenient as a challenge presents itself.
  2. WTF does Damon have to do with what I'm saying? You are making blanket statements about their motives that I am arguing against. Don't lose the forrest for the inconsequential tree.
  3. LOL. Now you rephrase? Did you "misremember" what is going on with the team? What a joke. You piss and moan like a bitch in heat about how "cheap" they are for a couple of months, with many bringing up these kinds of facts that make your accusations hard to support, and then it's just, "oh let me rephrase".....sweep it under the rug if you will. I guess we should listen to your next 4 months of drivel before you need to reclarify your point again, right? No thanks.
  4. Yeah, it's those annoying things like spending $26M on two useless years of Mike Lowell when there were no other, better alternatives in 2008 for 3B, or making the roster better by shipping Lugo off while paying the remaining $18M on the bill, and let's not forget a similar scenario with Renteria, and bringing in the best looking pitcher for $100M in Matsuzaka.....all those things just scream "bottom line", don't they? Sure, some of them didn't work out, that's professional sports in a nutshell, but the load of utter ******** that is your moaning about how cheap they are is getting tired. The facts just don't play nice with the nonsense you spout off about.
  5. It's almost like....if you type it, well, it doesn't happen. Please take it back, because all your smack talk seems to blow up in your face. For the sake of having the Yankees lose, let's hear some stuff about how awesome you think they are.
  6. I fully expect to come in here at some point and hear, "Montero dropped a fabulous deuce last night. Lapped the bowl in one piece, with no wiping necessary." Of course, we won't get an update when he's got the Natty Lite and chili-cheese fries runs.
  7. The timing of this is curious. There was a fan poll on ESPN the other day that I saw the results of on one of the TV's at the gym. A strong majority of ESPN's viewers thought his reputation for quitting on his team would tarnish his legacy more than the use of PED's. Maybe he hired a PR hack?
  8. Does position count? They signed the best RF available when they needed one. They signed the best 3B available, twice (Lowell and Beltre - unless you buy into the farce that Alex Rodriguez didn't want to go back to the Yankees), when they needed one. They signed the best SS available, thrice (Renterria, Lugo, Scutaro), when they needed one. I think you need to "put it another way" again with some backchecking for accuracy.
  9. While there certainly is nothing at stake this season, it's not a bad idea to let him get a taste of pitching on short rest should there be something at stake in the future. I would hope they don't do this for the rest of this season, but it's not a big deal if he does it a couple of times, IMO.
  10. Two can play at that game. Please limit your commentary to concepts you find valid. When you bring up archaic quotes from when you were in diapers but don't really agree with them, it's boring.
  11. Who else am I to make it about when you are the one that appears to be inconsistent in what you call sound managerial philosophy? Help me out here.
  12. You didn't listen to it, yet you think you know what the context was (when someone who did listen to it disagrees)? OK.
  13. Did he say it when Danks gave one up? I didn't hear the broadcast. I responded to Jacko's post, which portrayed it as something he said in defense of CC. If he didn't, I don't buy into that extrapolation.
  14. This. 1000x this. The "do something" movement sounds a lot like "do something just so you don't get accused of doing nothing", which is a pre-programmed response. I prefer thought and analysis of each situation over automatically doing something for the sake of appearances.
  15. Here's our Chad Qualls.
  16. PTBNL. He had an ERA over 8 in Arizona. Don't tell me you would have wanted him?
  17. Soriano threw six pitches last inning. This is a mistake from Maddon, IMO. Take advantage.
  18. Like last night, I would bring the starter who has been in control of the game back out for the 8th. We saw the formula last night, and I fear we will again tonight, probably making both unavailable tomorrow. Tito probably plays the B-team tomorrow if they win tonight as well. This is the time to step on their throats.
  19. The problem was execution, but the strategy was right. People were complaining about the strategy.
