  1. 700's primary defense of Damon has been, "Nava won't amount to anything". Not a strong selling point. If you need to focus on how much you think the other guy will be a bust, that kind of suggests there isn't much good to say about your guy, and with Damon as your guy, that's understandable.
  2. Where are you getting the "more power" part? Nothing in their play this year suggests that's the case.
  3. Sure it is. Nava is more productive....right now. Damon's 2500 hits are in the past. What he can do now is what matters to the team, and from the looks of things, Nava appears to offer more.
  4. No, he isn't. Yaz is absolutely right about you using the wrong measure. You are only looking at what gets converted into outs. His fangraphs GB/FB/LD chart shows he's above average (the bar for each is MLB average). http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/3543_P_daily_full_9_20100822.png
  5. You don't have to watch another second, just change the channel.
  6. Is it in Cleveland?
  7. Lackey's pulling a Beckett. Get ahead....give 'em back.
  8. Regardless of what the Yankees do, so are you, unless you have a vacation planned. We know you need to feel like their successes somehow make your life better, but the reality is you have dick to do with their success. Your little Freudian slip says a lot, and it's part of the reason I assign a consistent motive to your presence here. If you didn't need to feel good vicariously, and subsequently attempt to make others feel bad, you wouldn't be here.
  9. Yes, my post was full of doubt about what you were saying. See.... Well played. You got me.
  10. Yeah, if the award was intended to identify which pitcher had a more valuable, or meaningful, performance during the season. It is intended to identify the best pitcher. Does that mean I think the voters will get it right? No, but if I'm following the intent, that's not all that really matters. Like others have said here, the winner, assuming things play out over the last month and a half like they have over the first 4.5, "should" be Felix Hernandez. However, it won't be.
  11. No, he's always sarcastic, so I wouldn't take him seriously.
  12. Juicedapparel? Sounds like you primarily sell Yankees merchandise.
  13. Jesus, are you sensitive. Anyway, you ignored the point after it had been made by several posters. It took drawing attention to that ommission to get you to say something on the matter. Apparently, getting you to engage the debate is being confrontational. That's a new one.
  14. Four outs in Victor's last two AB.
  15. Right, and the "good" AJ was really only 60% good, and only against drek, which he isn't always "good" against (see tonight), which brings us back to the concept that the "bad" never left in the first place. See how that works?
  16. Jesus, he threw Hill like 5 strikes.
  17. I think his point is that this season doesn't look like it offers enough potential to take a risk of long-term injury, and I think he's right.
  18. Three of them were excellent, and they were against the Royals (2) and Guardians. I recall another stretch this year where he faced drek and you said he'd turned a corner. You still aren't getting that square peg into that round hole, no matter how many times you try.
  19. Did MDC have an out of body experience and inhabit Lester's body tonight?
  20. You say that like he ever left.
  21. Fantastic start.
  22. No thread so far, so win.
  23. We know, Tokyo Rose.
