  1. You are barking up the wrong tree there, man. He won't fess up when he's caught in a lie or wrong, and attempts to call him out go ignored.
  2. Truer words have yet to be spoken.
  3. Yeah, as SR said, they are out of position if they flop and the ref doesn't fall for it. I only have a problem with flopping if the ref actually buys it.
  4. I agree. I don't care if a player flops as long as the ref swallows his wistle.
  5. I'll admit, this is my first look at LSU, and they have a truckload of athletes on that squad. Too bad they have absolutely no court discipline. Their coach can recruit, but he couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper sack.
  6. I'm driving two hours down to Tampa, walking up to the the tickett window, and buying a "Beach" seat for $6 (at least, that's how much it was last year). Then after a couple of innings, I'm moving down to somewhere about 15-20 rows up on the 3B line. The only problem is I only have 9/10 chances to go.
  7. Good points. Cutting Riske and Seanez now means that Delcarmen and Hansen had better get the job done, or the Sox will quickly be dealing off players from the positions of depth in order to fill those holes. Let the season start and see how they do. If it's not good, you have replacements waiting in Pawtuckett.
  8. That is a misleading cherry-pick of stats right there. The OPS difference was 1.054 to .894, or the difference from MVP level to quite good. D.O. is just not the same hitter against lefties. I'm not saying he sucks, but he doesn't destroy them like he does righties.
  9. Last 3-year splits: vs. RHP - .312/.410/.655/1.065 vs. LHP - .263/.322/.482/.804 I'd say it's significant.
  10. You hit the nail on the head. Manny forgot his uniform when he left with the travel squad.
  11. I recall reading something that he, Vermilyea, has already been returned. EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see Jsinger's post.
  12. The only weakness I see is IF. If Schilling.....If Beckett......If Lowell......If......If.......If. They will be a very good team provided the majority of those IFs are met, but they could have several holes should they not be met. Having pitching depth is a plus, and I think they still have it to a degree despite moving Bronson. So, I say let the season start, and deal from a position of strength (SP, RP, OF - who'da thunk we'd have OF depth 3 months ago) to fill whichever IF doesn't pan out.
  13. Stern's stock keeps rising. When does he hit his selling point?
  14. HAHA! That's classic. The new book Game of Shadows says Sheff injected testosterone and HGH. This book appears to have impecable sources, so, as I did for Bonds, I'm going to accept it as valid. If you are a Yankee fan, and you are still playing the "he didn't knowingly take it" angle, don't you think it's time you stopped? I mean, come on.
  15. The toilet reference is about Yankee Stadium and it's bedpan like shape. http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/american/yankee70.jpg http://www.norsic.com/newart/bedpan.jpg
  16. If he's doing bad, why in the hell would a contender want him?
  17. Really? So when RS says Johnny won't get the same kind of ovation that O-Cab got, and you respond with... ....you aren't talking about fans? Could have fooled me. I guess you were just talking about Weebles, you know, the mother-f***ers that wobble but don't fall down.
  18. I'd agree with him needing more MLB experience if he had been a starter all along, but he hasn't been. He's being converted from a reliever to a starter, and I think he needs to make regular starts to build his starter stamina.
  19. Holy crap, Rivernator, you just broke my sanctimonious bull-s*** detector. They only way your thread holds any water is if you can show that anyone's opinion changed since the trade was made. If their opinion of him is consistent both pre and post-trade, then they aren't flip-flopping to take shots at him on his way out the door, as you suggest. In other words, nothing to see here.......other than some blatant baiting of Sox fans by another prick Yankee fan, or, as some like to call it, trollish behavior.
  20. I'd like to say something to those that are complaining about the Pats FO. As a Redskins fan I've seen folly after folly ever since Bobby Bethard split town and headed back to San Diego. That man could build a football team, and this current Pats FO can too. Appreciate that. What they have done is nothing short of spectacular when you consider the obstacles that the salary cap and free agency place in front of teams trying to stay on top. Just my 2 cents.
  21. He could have signed for less. The 4/40 deal was already on the table. Call me crazy, but I don't believe one word of his "I'd have signed for $46.." crap. He went for the money, which is fine, but I'm pretty sure he would have went for the money regardless of the gap.
  22. Damon's incessant comments about all things Boston makes it pretty clear that he's not entirely comfortable with the decision he made. If, as he says, he's "moved on", then why can't the guy have a microphone in his face without spouting off about Boston? He had a choice for happiness at a lower salary or remorse at a higher one. He took remorse and should just learn how to deal with it. Yankee fans, enjoy your scorned woman the next four years.
  23. Humble Admission of Overreacting to the Signing Countdown....5....4....3....oh who the hell am I kidding, we know that's not going to happen.
  24. OC and Damon leaving are apples and orangutans. Damon will get the same treatment that Boomer got last year. Actually, Damon keeps making the sentiment toward him worse, so his may exceed Boomer's. Keep telling yourself that the Yankee fanbase is morally superior to the Sox' base though, I'm sure you need that delusion to just get out of bed each morning.
  25. The only way that makes sense is if the Yankees aren't in a pennant race themselves, and I seriously doubt you're willing to say that they won't be.
