  1. What expectations are those? I expect him to provide speed on the bases and better range in CF. Speed doesn't take the day off. It's not like we'll be getting better (or worse) at the plate because while he gets added to the lineup, Pena gets taken out. He only improves the lineup if he can play SS.
  2. Complete over analysis of a rather simple situation. If Clement and Wells/DiNardo/Ginter/Alvarez/Mickey Mouse are still struggling to provide quality innings in the 4 and 5 rotation slots, and Lester continues to pitch as good as he has the past two-weeks, then he should make his debut in the not too distant future. And, Lester was on a pretty tight leash in terms of pitch count and pitch arsenal, so I don't think his early stats were as alarming to the FO as you want them to be.
  3. I agree with you on Alvarez and Ginter. They've pitched well enough, especially Abe, to get a look. Lester seems to have turned the corner on his rocky start, so he could be ready for a debut sooner rather than later.
  4. It's starting to look like Florida should have included D-Train in the offseason firesale.... IP ERA H/9 BB/9 K/9 46.1 6.22 11.1 3.11 5.83 And it's not like he started slow and is turning it around. His best start this year was on opening day (5 IP, 1 H, 0 R), and his worst two were his last two. His stock is slipping.
  5. f*** MLB. The 162 game season has something to do with it, but the bigger factor is the unbalanced schedule Bud "the Dud" Selig came up with. With the old schedule, they have more series against non-division opponents and more chances to make games up. But, can't have the ultra-meaningful interleague play without it. Stupid f***ers.
  6. What about Radke? He's off to a pretty s***ing start, but he's been very consistent over his career. Even if he continues to struggle, he can't be much worse than Clement has been, and he'll do it with far fewer walks. He's a match with Clement in terms of money owed this year, with the only difference being that he's a FA after this year while Clement is a FA after 2007. Would the Twins be interested in Clement for a year and a half? Probably not at his salary, so they may need to subsidise the deal to get it done.
  7. 2005 - 3.61 ERA, 12-15 2006 - 2.98 ERA, 1-2 D-Lowe is actually pitching fairly well in LA, he's just not winning games because he's had little run support. I don't think the Dodgers view him as garbage, so I think this is very unlikely to happen. I can't stand watching Clement's starts, but I don't see a fix on the horizon.
  8. Anyone wanna bet Loe's plant foot starts slipping now? I hate this squeeze a game in s***. It's not even f***ing baseball, but some sad act by whomever wants the game called depending on whether or not it is after the 5th inning.
  9. It stopped being a baseball game after the first inning of rain. It's an official piece of crap shoved down the fans' throats due to the 162 game schedule.
  10. That slowest working thing is starting to look pretty good right now. The way Matt is going, I don't want this bitch to get to the 5th inning. Youk f***ing rules.
  11. Is Clement even replacement level at this point? I mean, it's a crap-shoot whether or not he'll give you a quality start, and when he's bad, he's How the f*** is this guy pitching in the bigs bad.
  12. Please don't tell me I have to sit through another outing where Kameron Loe (who the f***?) pitches about 5 miles above his ability. Hey, nice gopher ball Matt. I see nothing has changed with you.
  13. Congrats. I hope you and your wife have a long life of happiness together.
  14. But, as you know Don, mtbyker has yet to make a thread of his stretch all the way to the Monster. And, speaking of the Monster, did you see what I did with Wally today....
  15. Last time I checked the calendar it said the year is 2006. What happened in the past means nothing when evaluating the current teams (which have all had some roster turnover). EDIT: BTW, keep wowing me with that immense baseball knowledge of yours. I'm floored thus far.
  16. Exactly. Teams know that they will have the Yankees bent over and screaming for a reaming in a trade for a good OF. I can really see the autonomy that Cashman has been given slipping away if he is in favor of keeping the good prospects. Either way, the Sox win, whether it be now if they don't trade, or later if they do trade.
  17. You opened your mouth. I stated the obvious.
  18. Sure is if we win the season series against them, like they did last year against us (both 95-67).
  19. Unless the Yanks can't win both of those game that they need to win to catch up. Better hope Moose is on the hill for both of them, because I don't like your chances otherwise.
  20. Nope, you have to take your lumps. I kid, I kid. Honestly, you were the only one that stuck around all of last night and didn't magically show up after the Yankees took the lead. You're OK in my book. Have a good night.
  21. Please, enlighten me. This should be fun.
  22. s*** on this.....3 IP vs. the Yankees, 0 runs scored. Thanks for chiming in. Your idiocy has been cast in stone.
  23. Youk! Greek God of GEICO!
  24. Seriously, with a guy up who hit a HR and 2B last night, and has 2 RBI tonight. Just sayin'.
