  1. Lowell is slick with the glove.
  2. And he's really getting the ground balls today. I agree 700, Tito needs his best fielding SS in there with a GB pitcher on the mound.
  3. Looked like he was trying to throw it around Hernandez, who was outside the runner's lane. He should have just thrown it right at the bag and Hernandez would have been out even if it hit him.
  4. There you go Lenny, get your groundball groove on.
  5. Anyone want some salami?
  6. El Capitan up with the bases loaded. Don't press, let it come to you V-Tek.
  7. Still got the no-no going.
  8. Holy shite! Throw some f***ing strikes Lenny.
  9. Saying that none of the new revenues will be spent on players is pure speculation, and saying it will only line Henry's pockets is outright mud-slinging. I don't think they are overly concerned with money, but I do see them as concerned with value. There is a difference between the two. Despite the example being set in NY, this team, like every other team in the league seems to have a little respect for the luxury tax threshold (which ultimately needs to be included in FA signing price to determine value).
  10. Hit this... http://online.cmgww.com/scp/stores/1/images/rawlings_baseball-thumb.jpg then hit this... http://www.redwhiteclothing.ca/club/image/obj7898geo6966pg41p3.jpg And, of course... http://www.gis.net/~scatt/earlywork/SM-oriole396.jpeg
  11. This needs to be documented. AGon gets on base 3 time in 4 PA. Seanez pitches a clean inning. Sturtze puts out a small fire in Texas. Any Bruce Willis sightings at NASA?
  12. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a Tanyon Sturtze sighting in Texas. Stay tuned for details.
  13. It's OK, I didn't take offense. To be honest, at the time I was undecided. On the one hand, it is tough to replace an integral part of the lineup with a rook, and Thome wasn't coming off a good year due to health problems. On the other hand, I knew he'd be a DH which would lessen the wear and tear and he's a hell of a hitter. When I drafted him in the fantasy league I thought I may have been taking a bit of a gamble. Lucky for me, it has paid off thus far.
  14. It won't be if Timlin gets the final out, and I hope they don't use him tonight. He's pitched 18 innings in 29 games, that's on pace for 100 innings out of the 'pen. He'll be gassed in September if they do that.
  15. His 2-seamer ran in and hit Matos. Matos mouthed off a bit, Tavares mouthed back, and the benches cleared, but no fight broke out.
  16. Don't lump me in that group, because I wasn't one of them.
  17. A soul for 2 hits but no dingers? Man, the market has gone down.
  18. Alex Gonzalez has been on base 3 times today in 3 plate appearances. In other news, there are reports of sinners playing pond hockey in Hell.
  19. Thome just hit a 3-run bomb for his 13th of the year. Think the Phils are a little pissed at what they got out of that trade? I know Rowand is a good ballplayer, but s***, the Phils are also picking up salary there. Complete steal for the Pale Hose. EDIT: Not to mention, a shrewd mid-round pickup in fantasy ball by your's truly.
  20. Yeah, and they are still raking on Bedard.... That said, no lead is Seanez-proof, and he hasn't pitched in a couple of days.
  21. High comedy by the O's there.
  22. Hey, a non-scientific poll taken from 10 high schoolers. Clearly that is a representative sample of all of New England.
  23. Holy crap, did you not get the point! I didn't say that we should neglect the past, and I think it is meaningful, but that has nothing to do with my point. I think Yankee fans have just as much to do with the Yankees suck chant as Yankee success does. Everyone knows they have won 26 championships, but doesn't stop Yankee fans from rubbing it in everyone's face whenever they get the chance. The number isn't annoying, but being a prick like that is.
  24. It sucks, but it's encouraging that the team is still competitive without their best baserunner and defensive OF.
  25. I got into my Jr. year as a physics major, but just switched to Construction Engineering for a few of reasons. One, that is where my background/experience is. Two, I need to go to work full-time now and finish up at night now that me and my wife had our second kid. Three, and most important, I realized it was only headed toward a job in academia. The research being done on lasers and particle physics is interesting, but completely tedious and not at all what I envision myself doing.
