He's unlikely to go to court before this season and postseason end. And, maybe he won't play here, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't inquire to see if he's changed his mind. Being snubbed by 29 other teams might have impacted his feelings.

Any time the Rays fall behind, and they get a guy on making it look like they might score, at some point during each hitter's AB, Magrane says, "Well, let's see if [insert player name here] can [insert euphamism for hitting a HR here]". I think it would be a good ad-lib game to come up with off the wall fill in the blanks. But that's just me.

Every time Manny is down in the count, Magrane says he'll chase. Every. Time. He's one of the best 2-strike hitters in the game. How does this nitwit still have his job? Oh, that's right, nobody watched the Rays to notice until recently. My guess, he's gone soon as more watch and catch some of his inanity.

If they are going to go for an external option, it should be Bonds because 1. he's the best option, and 2. he only costs money, not talent. That said, give Carter a shot while it's still only 3-4 weeks. Go for the external option if it looks like he's gone for the season.

Bailey can't come up for another 15 days unless someone gets injured. He did hit his 17 in Pawtuckett tonight. Carter ought to be in the lineup tomorrow.
