  1. LOL Now Chase Wright this bitch.
  2. Given his girth, I was surprised at how quick and nimble he looked getting to the bag.
  3. WTF? Luke Scott is the new Catalanotto.
  4. Jason Varitek, just whiplashed your neck, Mr Olson.
  5. JD Drew, is better than you, Mr Olson.
  6. No gamethread yet? I'll be your Huckleberry. Tonight we summon the spirit of the baddest Bart who ever lived, Black Bart Roberts. http://www.cindyvallar.com/Blackbart.jpeg Bartolo Colon vs. some chump Lineup Ellsbury - LF Pedroia - 2B Drew - RF Manny - DH Lowell - 3B Youk - 1B Varitek - C Crisp - CF Lugo - SS A'hoy, matey. Once more into the breach....
  7. Yep, and that table shows why I can't totally get into the NBA. More than any other sport, the refs home/road treatment makes it tough to respect the outcome of any game. It is why the college game is so much better. The NCAA refs will swallow their whistle if the offensive guy is initiating the contact and let them play. The NBA guys only do that for the road team.
  8. I'm not saying that one of those guys won't develop into a decent MLB regular. Just look at Rasner. Thing is, he was picked up on waivers (speaking of which, they should do everything they can to move him now while he looks decent before the other shoe drops - and it will). There's just no buzz about these types of guys. Hughes? I think they can attempt excuse his performance with the injury and use the buzz he had coming into the year. Kennedy? Not so much. Betances and Montero? They'll get you more than Kontos, McCutcheon, and Marquez.
  9. He's a singles hitting COF with attitude problems. It is like he wouldn't be wanted at all. As for the pitching that could be offered, I disagree. The Yankees have more volume to offer, but who cares? Look at half the guys on that list. McCutcheon and Marquez? Nobodies. They are in AAA and have never hit a top-anything list. Kontos? Who? Stop trotting out these types of names as if they have some real appeal. Two years ago it was Clippard and Karstens. Last year it was Chase Wright. These guys don't make headlines just on statisitical performance alone. The scouts have to see something, and outside of the PravdaProspectsPlus - a Yankee fan scouting site - the national scouts have little to say about them. When pressed in the past, the national scouting services were low on Clippard and Karstens and Wright and Kennedy. Looks like their relative silence regarding these guys is telling. Or do I get to trot out names like Zink, who has been awesome in AAA this year?
  10. I didn't say you give up on him, but you certainly don't give up talent to acquire such a project. And, that is what he is at this point, a project not a prospect.
  11. How is Tabata mentioned as anything other than a punchline right now? He's over a year removed from his hamate bone surgery. No power, no contact, and a bad attitude to boot. He's walked out on his team during a game, and he's just recently been disciplined again by the organization for attitude problems. I don't care if he's only 19 at AA because .248/.325/.294 just flat out sucks.
  12. Kalish struggled a bit out of the gate, a late gate due to the injury, in Greenville. He had a small handful of completely horrid weeks to start, but he's started to turn it around lately. Last 10 going into tonight... .364/.417/.409, 2 2B, 4/1 SB/CS He's 1/4 with a walk and a HR tonight. Doesn't look like the power has returned yet as he's only slugging .360 on the season, but things are trending up.
  13. Everyone not named Manny or Drew gets demerits for mailing this one in.
  14. Now it's over. Fate does not like Hansen, nor does Pedroia apparently.
  15. 4 DPs. This team is good at that.
  16. Youk has hit that mid-summer swoon.
  17. This guy Johnson throws strikes like his name is Matsuzaka or something.
  18. When did the Orioles hire Larussa?
  19. OBP, MVP, and Dopey up this inning. I like the chances of at least tying it.
  20. This is on the manager. He had nothing prior to the Markakis double. Letting him continue is incompetent.
  21. The "Hero in the Dark" s*** is out the window. He's throwing the ball like a pansy in the park.
  22. Oki hasn't shaken the suck yet.
