  1. cuz arod never chokes when it comes to the late innings and playoffs
  2. if Ortiz was cast off aside because of mainly he "is just" a DH. People who voted really dont know or care of how a great player he is and carried the team on his back in 2005. For the Yankees it wasnt Arod who brought the team to the playoffs, if not for Small and Chacon, the Sox wouldve won the East by a not small margin.
  3. If Ortiz was really cast off due that his main position is a DH, then the MLB really doesnt know or care how great of a player he is...
  4. um reason why frerotte had to throw is a lot is because the patriots defense had basically stymied the Miami running game. 77 yards being a season low for the patriots which has been a problme for thm. Defense was actually looking brighter not dim than usual. Ellis Hobbs showed yesterday why he was drafted: 7 tackles, fumble recovered, interception, and 4 pass defelects. How about the Red Zone? Just about every time the defense has allowed a touchdown but no this game sparked memories of 2004 and other great seasons. Dolphins on the 5 yard line and go 4 and out Heath Evans could have another good game, remember its the Saints that they are playing
  5. eh im still not sure about vazquez, we could have 2 clements for the second half in 2006 Myself if im actually setting my sights on lefty Jarrod Washburn, a plus is his career at Fenway Park is under 4
  6. its cool the bye weeks tend to throw people off
  7. yeah it wouldve been a crazy 3 way tie with the dolphins and bills at 4-5 things are looking good for next wknd, the lowly saints at gilette stadium
  8. yeah but Lofton is gonna be like 38/39 next year and is known to be an injury prone player
  9. yeah but Arroyo has 7 starts in 2005 lasting under 5 innings, 6 of those starts he had given up 7 Runs. If Sox make a deal for Overbay or Huff. No hesitation on my part, I want them to make that deal right away. Bronson's my boy but with Papelbon's debut and probability as a starter, plus signs are pointing to a new starting pitcher being signed... Doesnt that make Arroyo the odd man out because I dont think Sox would go to a 6 man rotation, and Arroyo has balked at full time bullpen duties.
  10. patriots though with their defense giving up like 370 yards, blah, they held the williams/brown combo to just a combined 77 yards . the Red Zone defense as well was having me think back to the past few years of the dominant defense new england has been backed up. Ellis Hobbs stands out as the defensive breakthrough. Heath "Where Did He Come From?" Evans was the breakthrough for the running game.
  11. ok now when the patriots defense gets better, their offense becomes anemic
  12. that would be correct, last summer he became a relief pitcher--his fastball tops out at like 97/98 He also, like Craig Hansen, is said to have a deadly slider
  13. im not so sure about the Orioles former GM Jim Beattie as the guy to take over Theo's job. He was with the Orioles for 4 seasons, and look where they had gone during his tenure. Also this is the same GM from the Expos who traded away Pedro to Boston in return for Carl Pavano. My top pick is Dayton Moore from the Braves, he oversees the minor league system, and we all know how good that system is.
  14. its looking like another one of our minor league pitchers showing great stuff will be on the list for callups to go with Lester
  15. i was just browsing the "Notes & transactions" section in yahoo sports. Hyzdu was listed as minor league contract purchased by texas
  16. Adam Hyzdu has signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers -------------------------------------------------- a trade could be the in the works for the Royals to obtain Blue Jays' 2nd baseman Orlando Hudson, offering a package that includes relief pitcher Jeremy Affeldt -------------------------------------------------- BJ Surhoff is in negotiations with the Orioles for him to return to the team for his final season in the majors -------------------------------------------------- The LA Dodgers' starting pitcher Elmer Dessens has been getting interest from the Orioles, Mariners, Yankees and Kansas City. Only Colorado has offered a multi-year deal -------------------------------------------------- zero teams have come forward to speak interest in obtaining sammy sosa or rafael palmeiro
  17. David Wells could be traded most likely, Arizona might have just emerged as a possible suitor since its on the West side of the country. Bronson Arroyo isnt a definite as well, any 1st baseman trade deals, see his name involved. -------------------- hey SchillingisNatural, you were right on target with your thinking.
  18. Arizona at Detroit Baltimore at Jacksonville Houston at Indianapolis Kansas City at Buffalo Minnesota at N.Y. Giants New England at Miami San Francisco at Chicago Denver at Oakland N.Y. Jets at Carolina Green Bay at Atlanta St. Louis at Seattle Washington at Tampa Bay Cleveland at Pittsburgh Dallas at Philadelphia
  19. according to WEEI, the Wells for Abreu deal has been nixed. Blue Jays GM JP Riccardi didnt want the hassle of paying Abreu's remaining $31 on his contract.
  20. damn talk about improving the Jays offense
  21. he would be great addition to fenway, but im sure i saw recently an article saying that the Cubs look to lock down a long-term contract to keep Lee at Wrigley Field.
  22. actually the top offseason priority is the manny debacle. though im glad at the same time that they are looking at GM candidates. This will be the person who has most of the say in the players the sox obtain, players they cut, players they trade, draft, etc. sox will come into some great pitching 2006 and beyond. sox dont need to score 7, 8 runs a game which is what we have come accustomed to. Yankees have been having problems of their own, I believe Sox will still drawn even and compete well against ny
  23. these guys should just hang up their cleats
  24. they could put him or youk at 1st base, but still i want at least one of our infielders that hits bombs and can be an RBI machine. something else 2005 season was lacking. Yeah I dont see him coming to Fenway, sad he was a #1 draft pick
