  1. what? thats a raping Sox get David Wright Mets get Manny, papelbon and Lester no such thinking would be brought up like that
  2. just thinking top off of my head, mind you Wells going to a team on the West Coast, Shoppach, Stern
  3. Rotoworld has indicated Zito might now be on the trading block with the acquisition of Loaiza. If this true, Id say for Sox to pursue this very much so.
  4. this makes it sounds like its possibly close at hand for a Manny deal 7 News has reported Manny has put his penthouse condo in Boston up for sale.
  5. Mets getting Wagner all but assures Phillies have a great shot at getting Gordon to become their closer.
  6. Mets without a doubt are the beast of the NL east, and think if they add manny as well
  7. Interesting enough to say the least. Tony Masarotti today on Cold Pizza that if Damon isnt resigned and the proposed Wells trade is done, a fall back plan could have them place Dave Roberts as the starting center fielder.
  8. Lastings Milledge as many scouts suggested would start the season off in Triple A, then get the traditional September call up before being an opening day starter in 2007. He shouldnt be written off right away as he is basically one of the best outfield prospects there is. With Adam Dunn, intriguing because past 2 seasons he has produced 40+ HRs and 100+ RBIs, and can walk 100+ times. He's just got to bring the K's down
  9. that would be just sick if Boston acquired Wagner, but thats a big if. On weei they had reported the Red Sox's "GM by Comittee" will be presenting an offer to Wagner today.
  10. youre blindsided if you dont see the great future hall of famer Tom Brady is. Besides yesterday's game he is captain cool in tight knit games specifically the playoffs. Kind of bustin your balls here, but that is what Big Ben has not proved yet he can do. 9-0 in the playoffs, which I believe is tied or he holds the best record ever for a quarterback. Is that 21 4th quarter game winning drives Brady has on his belt? Does he lead the league in passing yards and has a chance to break 4000 yards?
  11. actually on cbs it showed that the patriots would play the wild card not a divisional champ team, so far its looking like the jacksonville jaguars
  12. so you basically see the patriots losing 3 out of the next 5 games to finish out at 8-8? A 9-7 or 10-6 finish seems more likely. The players that have been out will start to come back next week for the Jets game and so on.
  13. according to this manny will accept any trade to get out of boston.
  14. Oh dude please, getting at me because of the way i put the rotation? Even Gordon Edes on "Red Sox Now" had mentioned Wakefield as a #5 starter, callling him a work force gap starter, which is what he is. So its not just me Besides the order the rotations are set up never stay the same the whole season, with pitchers out sick or on DL, all star break, possible suspensions, playoffs setp, etc.
  15. Id rather have Papelbon start the season off in the rotation. A bullpen of papelbon, foulke, timlin, hansen, mota, bradford, myers, delcarmen and dinardo is really simply too many pitchers to have sitting in relief. The average pitching staff (starting and relief) consists of 12 pitchers. IMO more pitchers in the pen equals less backup players that can be on the bench. Besides its been noted several times Hansen and DelCarmen will start 2006 off in Triple A to work on their mechanics. Starting Rotation: Josh Beckett Curt Schilling Jonathan Papelbon Matt Clement Tim Wakefield Bullpen: Long Innings- Bronson Arroyo Lefty Outs- Mike Myers Righty Outs- Chad Bradford Setup Men- Akinori Otsuka (Wells trade if possible) or Matt Mantei is a possible resigning Guillermo Mota Mike Timlin Closer- Keith Foulke
  16. Wells has to be moved. Josh Beckett has been acquires and they are still said to be seeking another starting pitcher whether it be through trade or free agency under contract 2006 Josh Beckett Curt Schilling Jonathan Papelbon David Wells Tim Wakefield Matt Clement Bronson Arroyo
  17. All i know down the pennant stretch the starting pitcher i wanted to give the ball was Wake and he proved his worth in September. In 5 games had posted a 1.99 ERA, yeah 2005 def wasnt the case with him. If not for the lack of run support Wakefield had in the second half, he wouldve been a 20 game winner which would have put him in the short list of Cy Young consideration.
  18. eh i think brandon moss more than david murphy David murphy is the best defensive player for the paw sox and is starting to hit for power--Look for his name to come up more if Trot ends up on the DL and not much hitting for power. Gordon Edes said recently Murphy would be top of the list to play right field if Boston dont resign Trot when his contract ends next season.
  19. Tampa Bay is the real next tough game that i see as a loss. Including this game Pats will go 4-2 rest of the way, and finish out on top 10-6 Prayers abound in the playoffs
  20. Pats are one touchdown away from losing this game. It doesnt help matters much that Kansas City gets the ball first in the 3rd quarter. Their offense hasnt had to punt the ball away. They are 5 for 5 in scoring.
  21. an ace is the best starting pitcher of the team he represents Wakefield led in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, complete games, and lowest ERA ------------ I was pointing out the pluses of of the projected members of the Sox starting staff? how did i call them all potential aces
  22. I heard on cbs Jets are at the top of teams who want to draft Matt Leinart. That would sure make you guys a force in the East if he does what he has done in college
  23. projected rotation If healthy, Schilling and Beckett would seem to provide a sick 1-2 punch that Schil nd Pedro did in 04 Papelbon in his debut season in the starting rotation will be solid no doubt The workhorse Wakefield who was the ace this past season, will again deliver what the Sox need to stay in the game. And clement.. well you got me on that one haha note how i say projected.
