  1. Id really like to see a platoon of Tony G and Alex Cora for shortstop. Dont get me wrong I love Nomahh, I just dont think its in the cards for him to return here.
  2. Id take Tony G/Cora platoon any day than take on Julio Lugo. He shouldnt even be in their plans. Id like the Tampa Bay trade if it has the Sox asking for just Huff and Baez
  3. Can count out Chad Tracey. Reports are the Diamondbacks will try to settle a long term extension with him. But whose to say if acquired that Huff would be the 1st baseman. He's versatile at playing all outfield positions. Question marks are surrounding Manny, Damon and even Trot returning
  4. Its looking more and more that Manny will be Manny in boston, for 2006 at least Mets- Carlos Delgado and other big acquisitions have pretty much shot down a chance of them getting Manny as well Angels- were interested, but in the winter meetings have said he is not in their plans Texas- Soriano was biggest bargaining chip, who is now headed to DC Dodgers- Not at all likely to happen The most plausible is to the Diamondbacks for Troy Glaus, even so... Boston will in the end choose to keep their frustrating but loveable slugger
  5. you know ive been thinking about something. Comment about it if you like. Since Tony G can play just about every position except for pitcher and catcher... any chance Sox could net Tony G to a 2 or 3 year deal to be their starting short stop? An infield of Lowell, Graff, Loretta and Youk/Marte could be a Sox pitcher's dream of having behind him.
  6. A plus about Loretta that pales comparison to mueller and tony g, in his 11 year career he has never struck out more than 62 times in a season.
  7. This has been in their plans to get a new catcher. Look for Javy Lopez to shift over to 1st base
  8. Its looking like as well that Chad Bradford's option will be picked up. Thats cool with me, he did show that he could pitch up to 2 innings straight. You got to love his pitching style to, no one else like him in the majors that I know of
  9. Gordon edes noted that the supposed 3 team trade could go down tonight. God please no Lugo to boston.
  10. Very cool that Doug's first at bat of the season at Fenway was 2 run homerun, his last at bat (last as a Red Sox) of the season was a pinch-hit 3 run HR.
  11. I agree, another solid trade following deals with the Marlins and Cubs... all done by a GM by Comittee
  12. Doug Mirabelli is so far expected to get a lot more playing time with the Padres seeing him as the replacement for Hernandez.
  13. The article indicates Ken Huckaby and ex-yankee John Flaherty as possible picks. -------------------------------------- haha in related news, the Padres have traded 3rd baseman Sean Burroughs for Dewon Brazelton
  14. I agree with you there, having a 1st base tandem of Youk and Marte would be great to have. I just dont see Lugo donning a red sox uniform.
  15. wow thanks for the memories Dougie. I'll be sure to give you a standing O if you ever come back to Boston on an opposing team. With Wells name not included, I sure hope the Wells for Duchsherer trade will go through

  17. Oh dear god, Lugo is not worth the Sox giving up a prospect for
  18. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------
  19. Rotoworld indicates another Marlins trade could be happening soon that would send Jeff Conine to the Orioles.
  20. I wonder how this will change the Yankees pursuit of Damon.
  21. you called this one, bosox MLB.com is also reporting this, Tampa Bay talks with Braves have died down because apparently the Devil Rays got greedy and was asking for couple more Braves prospects in the deal.
  22. --------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------
  23. you can find his errors and fielding stats here: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6063/career
  24. this is coming from Gordon Edes. I wouldnt actually call him an unreliable source.
