  1. this puts things into good perspective
  2. okk now the Dodgers are set with their rotation. Padres have acquired 2 starting pitchers in Jose Lima and Shawn Estes... Where does that leave David Wells' situation? Arizona perhaps?
  3. Will Ohman had his first full season in the majors this past season, appearing in 69 games for the Cubs. A lefthanded reliever, he compiled a 2.91 ERA with 45 Ks in 43 innings http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6612/career;_ylt=AiGotXkRf2If2kYFW924RhOFCLcF Overall this does sound like an intriguing trade and more inviting than Papelbon for Meche/Reed
  4. I agree with most of what this guy says. But dude, Arroyo will lead the rotation in wins, eclisping Schilling and Beckett?... Thats one shady projection. My thinking if Beckett is able to stay healthy and pitch over 200 innings, 17-20 wins with an ERA of 3.80-4.00
  5. That proposed trade is kinda lopsided in the Orioles' favor.
  6. They are also said to be in discussions for a lugo/kaz matsui swap
  7. I do give respect to that front office that they are holding onto the future in Papelbon and Lester
  8. Damn Orioles, be gone. Boston cant ask for Nick Markaksi, but its alright for them to request Paps or Lester?
  9. Another team frustrated by trying to deal with Tampa, as the Mets turn their attention toward the Dodgers
  10. a flurry of changes are coming from what i see on the many updates on rotoworld. Its too many to post, http://fantasybaseball.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.asp?sport=MLB
  11. ugh Sox FO very ugh, according to the Boston Herald, the Sox are close to striking distance on a deal with Tampa Bay. It would be a straight up swap of Lugo for Marte. Marte has vast potential to be a great hitter and long career with the Sox... and we're giving him up for an average shortstop that is probably just going to be here for 1 season?
  12. called this one. though its no surprise this has happened, Raiders said bye bye to Norv Turner http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2279219
  13. Didnt Tejada just turn 29? By the time his contract ends he would be around 32/33. Still Tejada embodies the leader of th clubhouse and the desire to win, the guy has not missed a game for the last 3 seasons now. I can see him taking rookie infielders like Marte and Pedroia under his wing.
  14. Another frustrating part in the Manny saga for the front office, he demands to be traded but yet at the same time he makes it harder for them to actually do it.
  15. um is it just me who smells something brewing? Jeromy Burnitz known for the past week of signing a 2 year contract with Baltimore, has actually instead been swooped up by the Pirates for a 2 year deal. Burnitz was going to be the Orioles' opening day left fielder
  16. damn I can see why the Sox are asking for him, this kid is a top notch potential power hitting outfielder http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/547591
  17. I highly doubt that we would be seeing a combo of Wells with Marte, Lester or papelbon or Dave Roberts. The Sox FO is not that stupid that I know of
  18. in my post i said it would be a trade of domanick davis (not Bush) for Abraham
  19. I dont see how they would be "overpaying" for Dave Roberts if he's acquired in a trade for Wells.
  20. yeah but its widely known that abraham is on the trading block since Abraham is going to want to command a big pay raise and the Jets dont want to do deal with that from him.
  21. Myself I dont believe anything right away thats breaking news released first on a message board and not on an actual sports news website
  22. yea but erubiel durazo is more of a DH, a la Big Papi and when not DH-ing he is at 1st base, where Youkilis and JT Snow are set to be for opening day.
  23. yeah i got the two mixed up
  24. I hope this is not true, Kazuo Matsui is reportedly being offered to the Red Sox. The Mets are seeking in return, Alex Cora. The Sox FO would be assinine to do such a deal, Cora will give the same production offensively. And he outweighs heavily Matsui on defensive prowress. Matsui's first 2 seasons in the majors has committed 33 errors. He also comes with a bigger pay for the 2006 season, Cora at $1.5 million, Matsui at $8 million. This should be a no-brainer for them not to pull this trade. http://www.nynewsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-spflash014571834jan01,0,3172285.column?coll=ny-yankees-print
