    There are better options than to just hand starts to Casey Kotchman. Im surprised Adam LaRoche isnt popping up in any rumors. I wouldnt mind the Sox bringing him back if they cant get Gonzo or sign Beltre

The Padres want both Buchholz and Ellsbury in the deal, but the Sox dont want to include both in the deal. Casey Kelly is untouchable according to this article Towards the end it says if the Sox are unable to get Gonzo or sign Beltre... they will go with a platoon at 1st base of V-Mart/Kotchman. If V-Mart is in a platoon at 1st, that means more playing time for Varitek. Yuck

    Yea haha Ill be working 2-11. Weird shift I know, but a position days could be opening up. Fingers crossed here Im just pumped because this is the biggest free agent signing of a pitcher in awhile (not including Dice-K). Props to the Sox FO for keeping this tight lipped

    Lackey's press conference will be at 11:30am ET. Mike Cameron's is at 1:30 And I agree with the other posters, making Beckett an offer of 5 years/$80-85 should get it done

    Cit Field, San Francisco and safeco park are all spacious parks. Hed be best served signing with Seattle, as they will have the option of making him the DH down the road

    Sox are looking at right handed hitting outfielders such as Xavier Nady. Would this mean they are looking for a platoon mate for Hermida, and include Ellsbury in an Adrian Gonzalez trade? EDIT: I meant to put this in the offseason thread
