  1. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2009/12/27/budding_slugger_may_be_reined_in_by_squeeze_play/?page=full The Rangers are front runners for Garland. It would do him better to stay in the NL. Back in the AL, and in a hitter friendly park wont work out well
  2. Gonzalez would do worse in the AL because of the green monster??
  3. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1220951&format=&page=2&listingType=sox#articleFull Baseball America released their top list of 10 Red Sox prospects:
  4. It also is messing with the kid. Even tho I think Joba is an ass... he deserves by now to be assured of what role he has going forward, not "oh around august (or sooner), we might need you to go back to the pen or rotation"
  5. What have the Dodgers done so far this offseason? All Ive heard about is them getting Jamey Carroll
  6. Yea that ship has sailed since May/June of this past season. Unless a trade occurs, V-Mart/Youk in the 3/4 spots
  7. And Im sure if he was placed on waivers, that he would go unclaimed, right?
  8. 388.1 innings in past 2 seasons while posting a 3.90 ERA, is nothing at all to sniff at. This past season he pitched 206 innings
  9. Lannan is a #4 or 5 starter in the NL at best?? Lannan in last 2 seasons has started 64 games (3.90 ERA) 388.1 innings, 382 Hits, 189 Runs (168 ER), 140 Walks, 206 Ks While his walks look high, he did lower his walk rate from his 2008 season while pitching 24.1 more innings
  10. With the Nats signing Marquis, Capps, Pudge, Guardado, trading for Bruney, and a full season of Nyjer Morgan, I doubt theyll even get close to 100 losses this season
  11. http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2009/12/04/yankees-reportedly-looking-to-cut-payroll/ Correction, according to lohud, it came from ESPN. Not boston.com
  12. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2009/12/yankees_counter.html Lol at Jacko and others who really believed the Yankees would lower their payroll to roughly $185 million. They will likely open the season again north of $200 million
  13. He also has New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, Royals (who non tendered Jacobs, Butler likely to stay at DH), and the Giants who were rumored to be in on Nick Johnson
  14. Seattle Mariners would be right to try and sign him
  15. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/source%3A-braves-give-glaus-one-year-deal Troy Glaus signs 1 year deal with the Braves, becomes starting 1st baseman
  16. Nationals have been busy. They are nearing a 1 year deal with Eddie Guardado. Also Matt Capps is choosing between them and the Cubs
  17. And the Sox have $55 million coming off the books.. your point being? Josh Beckett's $10 million, Wakefield is not set in stone to be in rotation for 2011 and Clay could very well be traded
  18. Mino, Id say the last spot would go to a utility infielder. That is not Lowrie as Sox have numerous times, stated that they want him to spend bulk of year in Triple A
  19. I love how Jacko views his prospects above all other teams.. then when they are traded away, to him they arent big losses
  20. CC Sabathia Javier Vazquez AJ Burnett Andy Pettitte Joba Chamberlain/Phillip Hughes The only way now the Sox can hope of contending for the division is if they acquire a big bat. If not, its Wild Card or bust
  21. Melky, Michael Dunn and another prospect For Vazquez and Boone Logan. Moving Melky might get Damon back in the mix, but he'd have to lower his demands... unless they open their wallet for Matt Holliday or Jason Bay
  22. Even still for a team like the Nationals, its a solid move
