  1. Just like when fans were mad at Theo for not resigning Bill Mueller, when there was a capable player in the minors to take over
  2. Another 9 pitch inning, 18 in his last 2 innings, 54 total pitch count.
  3. the Sox offense thus far at Fenway Park since the All-Star Break has been lukewarm, lets change that up boys
  4. Sox give this kid some run support, he's at 4 innings and has only thrown 51 pitches
  5. Sox take cues from Angels offense, swing early. A 9 pitch 3rd inning from the top 3 of the batting order, usually the most patient hitters of the lineup
  6. As for the team, yes it is looking likely he's at least in the top 3. It doesnt help his stats for July are showing a lack of patience at the plate. Even after that big game in Oakland, July he has been the lowest #5 hitter in baseball
  7. Is it just me or does Trot make the most 1st pitch outs?
  8. His 7th game at Fenway since leaving for Cali and he's still get the standing O. Just uplifting to see
  9. Was it with these devil rays minor leaguers with the "mightier than thou" egos? Also I found it very funny Delmon Young was commenting about clubhouse chemistry
  10. No it becomes a 5 man rotation with Wells coming back next week
  11. I believe thats Craig Hansen
  12. Just a little correction, Foulke does have a 2007 option on his contract
  13. Now Im really getting a migraine
  14. So youre Sox GM. Atlanta calls you up and say ok we'll give you Smoltz but we want Lester & another top prospect. What do you do I mentioned Lester & top prospect because that is whats been floating around there of what teams have been asking Boston for
  15. Its alright if youre trying to defend him But honestly saying that he's the best #5 man out of the bullpen is going out there. His ERA is deceiving as he has the highest % of baseball of allowing his first batter to reach, 11 of 16 inherited runners to score, his inabilityn like Tavarez to pitch with a cool head in tight situations. I got a list and dont mind sharing the Seanez gaffes of 06
  16. It would only work on a mlb video game with trades set to easy. Its just fantasy baseball, Beane wouldnt make that trade especially to an AL playoff contender
  17. Whoa I never thought the Rangers were in the mix, surprising events needless to say...
  18. update Wow this kid Delmon Young just wont quit on loweing his image. Hey Delmon here's two letters, PR. Keep that in mind because you arent making yourself out to be respectable as your talent should http://www.sptimes.com/2006/07/28/Rays/Rays_offer_Lugo_deal_.shtml calling out the D-Rays management, and the team itself. What a team player
  19. If they trade away Phillip Hughes, the Atlanta Braves in the end will get the better deal. Sure Yanks get Smoltz for half a season, maybe 2.. But the Braves get a top pitching stud who has the potential to be a #2 or 1 for years to come
  20. Oakland is in a pennant race, i still stand by that they wont trade away their best pitcher even if he'll be hitting free agency this offseason --Scott Boras is his agent, so rule out any extensions before free agency hits. He'll likely be looking for around 5 years/$75 million. Yankees, Mets and Cardinals are the likely 3 suitors to pay that out. --Oakland will not trade their ace to an AL playoff contender --Wily Mo Pena plus maybe 2 prospects for a half a season pitcher goes beyond Theo's policy
  21. The White Sox trading a starting pitcher to an AL playoff contender? Kenny Williams will be salivating as he asks Theo what top prospects he could have, because thats the only way we would be able to get Garcia this season
  22. Not all teams can afford to have 5 aces on their staff. He would be what he is, a 5th starter. He'd definitely be an upgrade over Pauley, Alvarez, Gabbard, and Snyder who is showing he doesnt have the stamina to be going more than 4 innings Like I said, im not expecting shutouts left & right. He is an innings eater, which Im sure the Sox have on their checklists. Theo is also going for these low-risk guys (though Lidle stands out as best of them) because he stands by his decision he doesnt want to sell the farm for a win-now deal.
  23. Just passing this along http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2006/07/red_sox_eyeing.html The Red Sox like other teams sent scouts to watch Cory Lidle start today vs the D-Backs. Final line- 8 innings, 4 Hits, 2 Runs, 8 Ks Now he's not a front of the line starter and no one would be expecting that out of him. The Sox just need a guy who can eat innings and keep the team in the games. Some good thoughts to have about Lidle... He is known to be a 2nd half pitcher, posting career ERAs of 3.56 in August and 3.40 in September
  24. mlb4u.com He has a 2007 option year on him worth $7.5 million
