  1. Damn, how much did the Yankees secretly give him under the table to say no to picking up his option year?
  2. Cormier in 34 innings has a 1.59 ERA, and his home is the band box of Citizens Bank Park lefties hitting .259 righties hitting .197
  3. Imagine how the Phillies fans are feeling? Abreu has been a marquee fan favorite slugger for them, Lidle has been a decent #5 starter. In return-- double A shortstop who is just hitting .237, a non-impressive starting pitcher in minors I believe, and of course lots of cash that may or may not help the actual team
  4. Abreu has been pulled from today's lineup of the first game of a double-header. Probably on a jet to his & Lidle's new home in New York
  5. Hopefully indeed the Sox were able to drive up the price of those 2 lower tier prospects mentioned before
  6. Hopefully the Sox just throw in Abe Alavarez in the deal. He's wasting a roster spot in Triple A rotation. He's not living up to the hype/potential I remember him being tagged with back when he made his debut 2 years ago.
  7. Timlin, Linebrink, Papelbon... damn
  8. If this is true... woohoo go Theo!! Lets drive that price up Will Carroll, bp
  9. Something we agree on Ive enjoyed the play of Loretta and gladly voted for him in the All-Star game, but Lugo would be a better offensive force
  10. "Duh." Insightful remark The Reds wanted one thing for Wily Mo and one thing only, an established starting pitcher. The Sox tried to give them DoorMatt Clement but Boston wouldnt help for his ridiculous salary.
  11. Here this thread is about a setup man going to the DL, I didnt realize this thread is also concerning the Arroyo-WMP trade and how they need a proven starter. Just was curious about it Trade Wily Mo Pena for a prospect? Thats its? From you I would be expecting to ask for a major league player since you dont pride yourself on any prospects. I am sure if they consider trading away Wily Mo they envisioned as the next right fielder would ask for more than a prospect.
  12. Are you also including the K King Bellhorn, Kevin Millar, and the (god bless him) close to retirement Bill Mueller? Fact of matter is if Theo resigned the whole 2004 team, the average age of the team would be at least 32/33
  13. Also didnt help that the Sox offense had tired themselves out by the time the playoffs came around. Case in point bases loaded with no outs against El Duque, well everyone knows the rest
  14. Great matchup tonight of aces, Schilling vs Lackey. Yesterdays uplifting victory Im thinking could be that spark that just sets the Sox off on the right direction. LA Angels (53-50) at Boston (62-40) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_407793.jpg John Lackey 9-6, 2.89 ERA 121 Ks, 46 Walks, 11 HRs http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_121811.jpg Curt Schilling 13-3, 3.60 ERA 133 Ks, 18 Walks, 19 HRs May the "little guy" unsung hero mojo continue today... http://www.pokeyisagamer.com/JIZwwaSj.jpg Our boy Pokey
  15. I feel bad for O's fans. With this current GM, their future is looking like a 4th place team. 5th place even with the Devil Rays who look like a more formidable team http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-sp.tejada30jul30,0,3928913.story?coll=bal-sports-baseball
  16. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=150577 MDC will go see a hand specialist, his hand had been flaring up when he throws his curveball

  23. This makes a lot of sense Jayson Stark
  24. Yea I was wondering if the Padres were one of the team interested in getting Loretta Maybe the Red Sox feel Pedroia's ready for the Big Show? ------------------------------------------------------------------ Jayson Stark Anyone else's heart beating fast?
