  1. If he is traded, which is looking more likely with each game that passes, Sox could maybe get some relief help or pry away a good prospect (hey Sox got Marte for 30 error Edgar) Center field free agents this offseason: Mike Cameron Jim Edmonds Darin Erstad Torri Hunter Gary Matthews Jr Juan Pierre
  2. Wakefield in the 1st half was given the "f*** you" treatment in games blown by the offense/bullpen Now its Schilling's turn, he should already be at 20 wins
  3. Im getting the sense more & more that there is a less likelihood that Coco will be back for 07. Edgar had an offyear offensively and even moreso defensively (30 errors to lead all of basbeball in 05). Atlanta still got him
  4. Yes because Nixon was much more of an offensive force this season than Wily Mo has been for us How about his "monstrous" July before he got hurt again?
  5. Tonight Schilling is in the hunt for strikeout #3000... He is at 2992
  6. 4 straight games Sox pitching as a whole, have given up 4 runs or less? The Sox pitching this series really stepped it up, more than I thought would since what has happened this past month (worst ERA in majors) Seattle Curt Schilling vs Jake Woods David Wells vs Gil Meche Kyle Snyder vs Cha Seung Baek
  7. I heard Sean MacAdams say that its like he's having deja vu seeing the 2 of them pitch: it wasnt that long ago he saw Papelbon & Lester cruising thru the minor league system together
  8. Maybe this delves into the struggles he has had recently. I agree, give him all the time/rehab he needs to get to full strength -------------- Not good news here rotoworld
  9. mods... ban please
  10. Yawn, was that an ill-attempt to try & spot a flaw about Pedroia (in his 2nd career major league game)? ... After he gets through the call-up jitters, his play-hard defense & his good swing will sort themselves out. Remember that your favorite players were rookies too, and not all came firing out of the gate
  11. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060819/capt.585856171f9745ae8fbaa62690dd7140.yankees_red_sox_baseball_mame107.jpg Jon, too hard to ask for a better image of you tonight?
  12. Also no need to call up Abe Alvarez -- He sucks as a pitcher, no need for Sox to waste a roster spot on him even in Pawtucket -- He's on the DL for the remainder of the year, fractured ankle No need to call up a catcher as they will already have 3 next month with Tek, Dougie & Javy Matt Ginter has long since been released from pawtucket, a clause in his contract allowed him to elect free agency if he wasnt called up by a certain date Red Sox have known to be stichler's (spelling correct?) on September call-ups. On Sep 1. I can see them adding Pena, Murphy, Van Buren, Breslow, DiNardo
  13. Around 150-160 Ks (avg season for Arod), which no would not be 10x his homerun total When he starts having 40 HR seasons, it will only be a footnote of how may times he has struck out. Maybe you & rician blast can start up your own site to complain, while all of us here will actually be cheering him on.
  14. He's not making the trade look any better because he got picked off? alrighty. Really enough of this crying about losing a 5th starter for a slugger who could have a long mainstay in Boston and is just 24 years of age Sorry it just bursts your bubble but Wily Mo will be the starting right fielder Parlay his stats this year into a full 162 game season-- .310 avg, 25-30 HRs, 100-110 RBIs, 75-85 Runs
  15. Boston Globe A Sox official has noted there is an outside chance that Ellsbury could make his major league debut as soon as next year
  16. Its not like it matters any... This team is just an avalanche cascading down the mountain The competition for the wild card are the White Sox, Twins, & Angels or Athletics. Those teams are above & beyond what this Sox team is representing Wakefield has been pushed back again, maybe he can be back in early September now Jon Lester vs Kelvim Escobar... blah Josh Beckett vs Jered Weaver... blah (wont be surprised if sox get swept again to make it an 8 game losing streak) --- I only watched today's game at work really because I knew it was Pedroia's major league debut. Cheers to his first of many major league hits
  17. Just caught this on sports center, a replay showed players/coaches scrambling to get into the hallway where the fight was presumably happening http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap;_ylt=AtfmuCL2zLV39n0rTBilYRQRvLYF?gid=260821114&prov=ap
  18. Schilling & Wells are only 2 reliable starters Beckett hasnt won since July 24, an ERA over 8 in August Wakefield was expected to come back August 27 but has been pushed back again because of back stiffness. Kyle Snyder as of now has been given the temp 5th starter slot
  19. Thanks for the great news, jsinger  Im psyched for this kid's debut, i have to remember to tivo it, with me working nights now http://198.64.140.59/graphics/baseball/Graphics/2005/08/FAB50/playerthumbs/45Pedroia.jpg
  20. Alex Gonzalez is close to being displaced on the DL Dustin Pedroia please
  21. Angels next, they'll sweep... or hey sox might even get a lucky win -- EDIT: Sox cant use the excuse of them playing better at home. The record at home since the All-Star Break is Royal-esque
  22. 5 game sweep 6 1/2 games back goodbye season, let the cleaning of the roster begin
  23. He never said when the pitching gives a good outing, the offense never gives them run support He said "We're throwing the ball really well, holding teams down" That means he believes that its been the pitching that has been the rock for this team Ease up on the caps and excessive question marks
