After he gets through the call-up jitters, his play-hard defense & his good swing will sort themselves out.     Also no need to call up Abe Alvarez -- He sucks as a pitcher, no need for Sox to waste a roster spot on him even in Pawtucket -- He's on the DL for the remainder of the year, fractured ankle No need to call up a catcher as they will already have 3 next month with Tek, Dougie & Javy Matt Ginter has long since been released from pawtucket, a clause in his contract allowed him to elect free agency if he wasnt called up by a certain date Red Sox have known to be stichler's (spelling correct?) on September call-ups.     Around 150-160 Ks (avg season for Arod), which no would not be 10x his homerun total When he starts having 40 HR seasons, it will only be a footnote of how may times he has struck out. Those teams are above & beyond what this Sox team is representing Wakefield has been pushed back again, maybe he can be back in early September now Jon Lester vs Kelvim Escobar... blah Josh Beckett vs Jered Weaver... blah (wont be surprised if sox get swept again to make it an 8 game losing streak) --- I only watched today's game at work really because I knew it was Pedroia's major league debut.     Schilling & Wells are only 2 reliable starters Beckett hasnt won since July 24, an ERA over 8 in August Wakefield was expected to come back August 27 but has been pushed back again because of back stiffness. Kyle Snyder as of now has been given the temp 5th starter slot
