If Wily Mo is able to become a 30+ HR guy, it'll alleviate the growing pains he will have adjusting to right field in Fenway Park.
Lets put it this way, who would you rather have protecting Manny in the #5 spot
Guy who hits empty 300, walks a lot, probably avg 10 HRs/50+ RBIs
Other guy who is projected to have a .275, 25-30 HR/85+ RBI season.
Its all about production. Wily Mo will be the better run producer of the 2. Maybe Trotcan be resigned to come in on defense in the late innings. The Sox, while competing with NY, cant continue to start a player who's numbers have been declining 3 straight seasons and is making a routine of going to the DL. Please dont bring up Wily Mo's DL trip this season, as he is still young and that was a freak injury that happened to his wrist (affecting his swing even more)
