  2. Rogers followed suit and dominated amidst his bad stats in the post season & facing his fomer team... Can the 24 year old Bonderman repeat & sweep away excuses of him not pitching as he should down the stretch? Yes YoukoftheNation, it is always fun to see shutouts in the postseason.... especially when A-Rod helped the cause Haha what a choker, thank youuuu theo for pulling out of that trade

  4. My pipe dream of an 07 roster can only be seen on my saved profile on MLB 06: The Show Catcher- Jason Varitek Backup-- Rod Barajas 1st Base- Kevin Youkilis 2nd Base- Dustin Pedroia Shortstop- Alex Gonzalez Backup-- Alex Cintron 3rd Base- Aramis Ramirez Left Field- Alfonso Soriano (If Manny is traded, top pick to replace him) Center Field- Wily Mo Pena Right Field- Gary Sheffield Backups-- Eric Hinske David Murphy Lineup: 1. Soriano lf 2. Pedroia 2b 3. Ortiz dh 4. Ramirez 3b 5. Sheffield rf 6. Wily Mo cf 7. Varitek c 8. Youkilis 1b 9. Gonzalez ss
  5. And the reason you chose the name "26 to 6" was because?...
  6. Jeff Suppan... This guy was so good we gave up the eventual '06 NL batting champion Freddy Sanchez. He was so good we also left him off the playoff roster altogether. Pods kick some ass here please
  7. Sox FO did a bad job of bringing him up... Look at last year, how many times was he brought back and forth? About his 2nd half, it was more due to consistency. In the 2nd half saw players dropping like flies. Tito thought it was smart to keep bumping Youkilis around the lineup (almost every day) instead of the leadoff spot where Youkilis thrived in the 1st half.
  8. If Wily Mo is able to become a 30+ HR guy, it'll alleviate the growing pains he will have adjusting to right field in Fenway Park. Lets put it this way, who would you rather have protecting Manny in the #5 spot Guy who hits empty 300, walks a lot, probably avg 10 HRs/50+ RBIs Other guy who is projected to have a .275, 25-30 HR/85+ RBI season. Its all about production. Wily Mo will be the better run producer of the 2. Maybe Trotcan be resigned to come in on defense in the late innings. The Sox, while competing with NY, cant continue to start a player who's numbers have been declining 3 straight seasons and is making a routine of going to the DL. Please dont bring up Wily Mo's DL trip this season, as he is still young and that was a freak injury that happened to his wrist (affecting his swing even more)
  9. im just being curious "HeadOfSoxNation", but why do you have a Yankee symbol as your avatar?
  10. joel zumaya hasnt inherited the closer's role yet because???
  11. Here's the hometown hero... trumpets, drumroll please and layout the red carpet for A-Clutch
  12. Barry Bonds in Boston is not gonna happen. If the team is trying to move Manny because of his antics & attitude, why would they then acquire probably the most hated player in today's baseball? Its just not gonna happen. The size that Ortiz is, its better to have him as the DH. It might also be the healthier option.
  13. Granderson with an RBI triple! They take the lead in the 7th
  14. "Arrrrrod" is now 0 for 3, 2 Ks The boo-birds have made their presence known
  15. I got a feeling we are going to see a better Coco Crisp in 07. He had a hot spring training followed with a good start to the season in 5 games (2 Doubles, Triple, 2 SBs, 6 Runs). That 50 game layoff & lingering injury afterwards really affected his play
  16. I was actually still hearing cheers EDIT: Damon 3-run HR... 2 curtain calls afterwards... gag me with a fork please. Verlander hung a fastball middle-in to a left handed hitter at Yankee Stadium
  17. Ahem this is why Arod was pushed down to 6th in the order for the playoffs. Bases loaded, 2 outs in the 1st inning... Arod K's on 3 pitches And that is why he is called A-Clutch http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2004/writers/tom_verducci/09/01/arod.clutch/p1_arod_ap.jpg
  18. Abe Alvarez was in Triple A for the whole season (albeit 2 games with Boston). He's not going to have a future with the Sox. They should just cut their losses altogether and cut him from the 40 man roster and say bye bye. Pauley has also spent the pas t season in Triple A, so its moot for you to say to "send him back to the farm". I see Bryan Corey getting a spring invite, but however I dont see Carlos Pena getting one. He wouldve gotten more playing time in their "countdown to vacation" games last month. Mike Burns will probably get DFA'd. Also of note, expect Wakefield to be in the rotation next year which is looking like his last year anyway. I do agree with you about Hansen. The kid is 22, let him season more in the minors.
