    If that really was the case, the Sox wouldve said so right away as Papelbon was an All-Star closer for them. All players dismiss possible injuries and act like thir s*** (not saying Papelbon isnt). Theo came out and said the team's medical staff reported to him that him starting would put less wear & tear on his shoulder than closing would do

    Well everyone knew on here it would be around 5 years/$70-75 million and that estimate was being reported in Boston since Thanksgiving wknd. An official announcement was held up from the Sox focusing on Manny trade talks. a700 wa getting to the point that the Sox did not set the market which is true... Soriano- 8 years/$136 million, Carlos Lee- 6 years/$100 million, Gary Matthews Jr- 5 years/$50 million, Juan Pierre- 4 years/$44 million

    What a 180 Sox bid $51 million, with expected contract to increase total price overall to over $100 million. Gom and other Yankees fan criticized us for the Sox FO to shell out such cash for an unproven pitcher in the States. Now its alright for him to say the yankees could break bank over $100 million for him? And no Boras can not just buy him out from the Lions. Again (say this a lot to yankee fans), blockbuster deals like this with Boras always happen until the last second. Foolish to think the Sox are just going to let him walk away and be fine with Snyder as their 5th starter

    I wouldnt put Drew in the same class of speed as Youk, Ortiz, Manny, Tek, and Lowell. He does have 15 stolen bases over the last 3 seasons, thats more than the other 5 mentioned have combined. And this lineup does have the potential to be one of the best run producing in baseball

    As Ive said before, what are the better options? Yes we could trade for Chad Cordero-- But Bowden's price from Boston is considered to be Wily Mo, 2 top pitching prospects The Pirates were asking for Braves' 1st baseman slugger Andy LaRoche. Who would they ask in return from Boston? Derrick Turnbow could be a possibility. But is also a risk himself. As a closer in the NL he broke down with a 6+ ERA Brad Lidge, I believe could be off the table

    Ken Rosenthal has updated that the White Sox will also be getting Jason Hirsh. He is a very good ptching prospect with upside to be a #2 or 3. We could see a 2007 rotation of Buehrle, Contreras, Vazquez, McCarthy and Hirsh

    Im finding more fault with Gil Meche himself. Yeah Gil it is $5 million more than the Cubs & Blue Jays... but youre not all together up in your head. Have fun getting used to being with a last place team and minor league team fanbase
