  1. The f*** I care about the posting fee if it doesnt factor into the payroll. It came out of Henry's pockets, god I am crying now. If thats the best argument to try to rain on Sox fan's parade today...
  2. Dont call me Bro What do you mean his last 2 games (one was a gem, the last game was when Tito left him in too long in the 7th as he gave up 6-8 consecutive hits)
  3. In this day and age, this market, we are able to lock up for D-Mat for 6 years/$52 million... f***ing incredible Haha Royals have Meche for 5 years/$55 million. We have D-Mat for 1 more year and less cost of $3 million Im ecstatic right now and cant wait to get this season started!! Already got my tix for opening day which should be his Fenway Park debut... Facing Seattle... 1st pitch is to Ichiro Suzuki
  4. HRs Pre-All Star Break (18 starts)- 26 HRs Post-All Star Break (15 starts)- 10 HRs As I said-- before his last start of the season he was deliving consistent start after consistent start for a month. I dont just pull stats out of my ass August 24 - September 21 (6 starts) 2.61 ERA 38 innings, 32 Hits, 11 Runs, 2 HRs, 14 Walks, 22 Ks
  5. Whoa thanks for the heads up "SchilouttheKs", if this turns out to be true Theo was able to talk Boras down from 6 years/$66 million to 6 years/$52 million? Thats roughly an average of $8.5 million a season
  6. $25 million for the rights to talk to a pitcher who will be in Triple A for his first season I wouldnt rule out the Sox dropping their interest for Clemens. Wakefield could still be xpendable to the bullpen paving the way for a 5 man rotation of hard throwing right handers could lead the league in K's easily. Odds are still good for a June bidding war between Boston and New York
  7. Here He Comes http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/BDD_DM_dannyo_12.13.06.jpg
  8. But I thought Boras was planning on using him as a chip to tear down the whole posting system, then go on to buy out D-Mat from the Seibu Lions to sign him to a $100 million contract with New York :harhar:
  9. Mustve been the link that rotoworld provided when news was first announced
  10. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/redSox/?p=795  EDIT: Ok obviously the site is acting weird, must be from a barrage of traffic to read the blog. This is the summary from rotoworld
  11. Just think about that extension they signed Beckett to in July 3 years/$30 million with an option for a 4th year... The Royals are paying more money for Gil Meche than we are for Beckett, just let that set in
  12. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2006/12/lugo_its_offici.html Julio Lugo was on WEEI this morning. During the interview it was indicated that there will be a 3:30 press conference to introduce him to Red Sox Nation. No news on Drew as of now
  13. um Wily Mo was much better in center for the Sox. This past season he was having more adventures when playing left & right field, he wasnt actually hidden
  14. Sure thing, you just right click on the link making it highlighted. A menu comes up and you click on copy, do that twice just to make sure it went through. Then you go back to talksox, in the reply box you right click again and instead click paste http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/redSox/ Im perplexed to say the least. Didnt Theo say it would be a record offer to a player who hasnt played in the majors, let alone a Japanese player?? Matsui signed $52 million contact recently so his offer should trump that. If Boras is now just asking for 6 year/$66 million, take the f***ing kid to the Hub already
  15. could you post a link? Regardless of the time issue, that should still be on the boston herald website
  16. Whats more important right now? Theo being present to introduce Lugo & Drew to Boston or Theo being present to talk with Boras about Matsuzaka... choices
  17. Its not like Crisp is looking like a long-term investment for Boston anyway... as Ellsbury is seemingly in line to be in center field by opening day 08. Its moot now as the Rangers have signed Lofton
  18. $100+ million for Kevin "I hurt my back" Brown Yes I whole-heartedly agree on Lee. Many predict him to be a DH in 2 or 3 years, due to his size and declining skills in the outfield. The Houston Astros, an NL team, signed him to a 6 year/$100 million contract. Gary Matthews Jr is a career 4th outfielder who had a career year and was given 5 years/$50 million by the Angels
  19. http://www.canoe.com/sports/nouvelles/archives/2006/12/20061212-052303.html $8 million guaranteed for a guy who's pitch 15.2 innings over the past couple of seasons. If only the Rangers didnt sign Kenny Lofton, Boston couldve been a good trade partner to offer Crisp/1 or 2 prospects to Texas for Otsuka
