  1. Ok to all the people who are all arguing that the Sox are saying "f*** you your sorry ass" to Schilling... Is this is the 2007 offseason already? Has the 2007 season even started yet? I guess No to both questions. This doesnt mean at all that its signed & sealed that Curt is pitching his last season in Boston and Theo is getting ready to take a s*** on his jersey.
  2. Not basing on just what ive seen in ST... Donnelly should be one of the 2 main set up men along with Timlin, he might even should be the favorite for 8th inning duties with opportunities for saves
  3. Eh he'll be 41 next year, he showed up to camp sporting a much visable beer gut, and he repeatedly told everyone 2007 would be his last year... I cant say I find good reason to put Theo's head on a spike for wanting to wait how he sees this year to give Curt $13 million or more
  4. No i havent seabeach, I'll try to look at the interviews. Thanks for the heads up There is no batting order yet for tomorrow's spring training opener but here is the pitchers who will be appearing. Im not sure but I heard that the 1st game might be on WEEI boston.com Francona did not provide a lineup for tomorrow night's exhibition opener at City of Palms Park against the Twins. Curt Schilling will pitch the first two innings and be followed by Julian Tavarez, Joel Pineiro, Manny Delcarmen, Brendan Donnelly, J.C. Romero, Bryan Corey, and Runelvys Hernandez. Matt Garza starts tomorrow for Minnesota. The Sox have two games each on Thursday (Northeastern/Toronto) and Friday (BC/Toronto). Roy Halladay will start for the Blue Jays Thursday and Gustavo Chacin Friday. Japanese lefty Hideki Okajima makes his first appearance Friday against the Jays
  5. I see 2 blog sites and dirt dogs which isnt that much of a respectable news source.. Thats the only picture that he appearded to be kind of pudgy, sometimes pictures can make things look the way they arent in reality Now Schilling... he's the one who showed up overweight
  6. Manny has arrived and did he dye some of his dreadlocks... red? http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/26/1172508199_4933.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/26/1172516714_5701.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/26/1172516561_8840.jpg Manny taking some BP with Matsuzaka
  7. Gom, where did you hear that Matsuzaka came into camp overweight? http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172345347_2762.jpg
  8. He's 41 this year, it was expected to see him breaking down little by little especially after last season. It just means the free agent pickups & young guns have to step their presence up a notch. Guys have faith in Donnelly, I believe he's going to be one of the best relievers this year for Boston
  9. Just watch his name will be a catch phrase as well someday I can see it now GMs in the near future (mightve already happened) talking to the agents for pitchers on the market "Now I dont want him to pull a Pavano on us"
  10. It was only a matter of time... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AkNBOt1y4A3Z5PuBDvOqI_Ai0bYF?slug=ap-yankees-pavano&prov=ap&type=lgns Pavano has an MRI done
  11. Funny, I saw the same article 2 years ago about Johnny Damon Not saying that there is even a remote chance of him joining the Sox or any other team for that matter
  12. Cleveland Guardians- 1st baseman Lee Stevens, 2nd baseman Brandon Phillips, outfielder Grady Sizemore, pitcher Cliff Lee Montreal Expos- pitcher Bartolo Colon Minnesota- Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano, Boof Bonser San Francisco- A.J. Pierzynski Mark McGwire from the A's to the Cards, in return for 3 crapshoot prospects The piece de' resistance............. Met's Scott Kazmir for D-Rays' Victor Zambrano
  13. At least we know that to the Rangers' credit, its good to look back at this trade and have a good laugh. True at the time the lineup was crowded but that was the best Texas could get in return? Texas- backup catcher Einar Diaz, right handed journey man Ryan Drese Cleveland- minor league pitcher, Travis Hafner
  14. Speaking of Texas & dumb ass Sox trades, bosox... Im surprised this one isnt mentioned that much 2001 Boston- Doug Mirabelli Texas- All-Star A's setup reliever Justin Duchscherer hmm, wait a second 2006 Boston- Doug Mirabelli San Diego- Cla Meredith (set franchise record of scoreless innings in his first season)
  15. Nah it wasnt a trade involved, just some mis-handling by the front office when he was drafted. Teixeira went back to school instead of signing with the Sox
  16. Yesterday it was team photo day in their official Sox gear http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172345394_9856.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172345822_8587.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172351790_9224.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172345987_7428.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172352011_4213.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/24/1172352109_0359.jpg Is it too much to ask the baseball gods to see this Sox double play duo stay intact for the next 4 seasons, honestly ?
  17. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070225&content_id=1815020&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb The deal would begin during the 2009 season, as 08 is an option year. The price was driven up by Chase Utley's recent $85 million extension with the Phillies, so look for his to be around $15 per Something very interesting to note that isnt on this article... Speculation is that the Rangers had to decide which of the 2 (Teixeira, Young) would they lock down to be their face of the franchise. Teixeira is a free agent after 2008. Have him come back to the team that originally drafted him perhaps? A guy can only dream
  18. Wow, retirement? Thanks for the memories Dillon
  19. Scenes of Matsuzaka's lengthy 103 pitch bullpen session http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Reuters_Photo/2007/02/22/1172174834_9044.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/22/1172166835_5425.jpg
  20. http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/21/1172085702_8341.jpg Slim Papi?
  21. Def agree BoSox, Lugo looks like he shed 15 years off by just shaving http://redsox.bostonherald.com/images/redSox/coco02212007.jpg Crisp is back to the hair style he had in Cleveland, abandoning the shaved head look he had in his first year with Boston
  22. Id rather have Curt pitching on 5 days rest for game 3 vs texas, then 7 days of rest to pitch the home opener
