  1. How did Veras even make the roster is what I want to know
  2. I didnt say he was going to be an even better pitcher than he was this year. Its not out of this world for me to expect consistent 15-20 W, 3.5 - 4 ERA type of seasons
  3. Schilling's stuff can be able to last this postseason but... having him at this stage for multiple years in the AL East? No thanks
  4. Just give these TBS announcers some Yankees gear already
  5. Yankees offense putting away "making the pitcher work" strategy and helping Byrd out to go longer. 1st pitch outs are killer
  6. I dont think it will be as much pressure as it was on his rookie season, first year in the US, first postseason in the US, etc. Its not like he was circa Jason Johnson this year. He did top 200 innings & 200 Ks while notching 15 Ws. From June through the end of the season he was hit with the burden of newest Sox pitcher with close to nill run support. Another year under his belt, Im expecting a good bounceback year
  7. Victor Martinez is at 1st base tonight, Garko with the day off. Mienky gets the start at 1st for the Yanks **Byrd this season vs New York in 2 games, 1-1 with an 11.57 ERA. **On the road in 16 games, 8-4 with a 3.53 ERA **Wang this season vs Cleveland in 2 games, 0-2 with a 15.43 ERA. **At home in 17 games, 10-5 with a 2.75 ERA
  8. This does sound like a Yankees telecast -- Commenting on Phil Hughes coming in, "And a child shall lead them"
  9. Im actually hoping for a series that lasts longer than 3 games. The Guardians or Yankees would have less time off, and pitch more innings (especially if extra innings are in the cards).
  10. Tony LaRussa is all but done with the Cardinals, I bet he'll be one of top candidates
  11. Haha "yankees suck", we both had the same idea . Same time too

  13. Roger just retire, close out your career and come to the Hall of Fame ceremony in 5 years. I dont want to go through next season's 1st half hearing will Roger or wont he? About Torre... Sad to see him out of sorts, the guy has looked plain out tired this past season. Its just as well that this is his last season as well
  14. Actually 2005 was a solid year for him-- .281 avg, 30 Doubles, 22 HRs, 70 RBIs
  15. The home plates umpire strike zone has gotten smaller the last 2 innings
  16. I def agree, he was brought on board to be the 3rd set up man. This included giving up a reliable 5th starter option in Kason Gabbard, David Murphy, and a good dominican 17 yr old slugger just to pry him away EDIT: I wanted the shutout, but better for him to get this rust off now
  17. Gagne hasnt pitched since September 30, the season finale. For him to go almost 2 weeks and not throw in a game, I wonder how his durability would be. Especially with his 2nd half being the way it turned out
  18. Boo, Gagne should be in for the last 2 innings
  19. 9-0.... 7 run 8th, on we go to the ALCS mother f***ers!
  20. Haha you cant beat the speed of Ellsbury!
  21. Wow, Hale is so lucky that Lugo was able to make it to home plate. Good ab by Pedroia, followed by a productive out by Youk to make it 4-0 I would imagine Ellsbury comes in left field for the bottom of the 8th inning
  22. f***ing A Schilling!! Okajima for the 8th, Papelbon for the 9th please
