  1. Agreed. DB's already have it tough enough. They already have to look back to see if there's a flag just about any time they defend a pass. If they're not making any contact, I don't see what's wrong with face guarding. Perhaps the problem with penalties that referees never have to call is that nobody has any idea when they're done away with.
  2. Probably just karma for the game Ty Law was allowed to hang all over Marvin Harrison. I didn't think face-guarding was illegal. I said at the time that I didn't realize that it was. Definetely shouldn't be illegal, though, either way. And on the no-call in the endzone on Hayden, I think that didn't get called because before there was any contact, Reche Caldwell put his hand on the shoulder of the defender. Should've been pass interference and had Caldwell not initiated some contact, probably would've been.
  3. Speaking of the 49ers... here's a list of all-time greatest Super Bowl teams according to ESPN... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=super/rankings/80-61 I would certainly say they're correct with having the 1989 49ers at the top.
  4. I don't know, man... some people do.:dunno:
  5. Paranoid much?
  6. You're forgetting about the exchange rate...
  7. 49ers are my second favorite team, though they've become a very distant second. John York is just a huge turnoff in my attempt to get excited about 49ers football. I can take the losing... it's the incompetent ownership that turns me away.
  8. I'm not as scared of the Suns as I am of the Mavs. We've always played the Suns close. They play as little defense as we do, so there's really no way they can stop AI and Melo. Our chances of beating them are a lot better than our chances against the Mavs. Dallas plays defense, these days.
  9. I think Melo's 15 game suspension actually helped. We saw a lot of guys step up and see what they can do in his absence. Also, AI doesn't play the greatest defense in the world but what he does do is contagious. Getting on the ground, going all out for every ball he can get to. Since he came aboard it seems like the whole team is doing it... even JR Smith who used to not even pretend to play defense. Another thing about JR Smith's defense is that for the duration of his suspension, I read that he and Melo were in LA with a Nuggets trainer playing 1 on 1 every day. So having to defend a guy like 'Melo one on one for almost a full month has to help some with your defense. You can tell from the game last night that the team certainly hasn't gelled yet. But you can also tell that when they do... they're going to be dangerous.
  10. http://espn-ak.starwave.com/photo/2007/0122/nba_g_iverson_melo_412.jpg This image will never get old.
  11. It's not like the Pats came out and completely s*** the bed. The Colts were not going to be stopped in that second half. What Peyton Manning and the Colts were able to do was something special to watch, really. It had nothing to do with the Patriots choking. They didn't play a bad second half at all.
  12. Is it safe to say that in the way that the Patriots have owned the Colts in the past, the Colts are now beginning to own the Patriots similarly? I know that's going to draw some heat here but think about it and I don't mean to be so frank with it. Peyton Manning has torched the Patriots in the last three meetings (about 105 points in three games) and I think it's because you can't surprise him anymore. He's seen everything you guys tried to do today and once he knows what you're doing, it's over. Despite the numbers, the Colts defense played very well today. They made the Patriots work just enough for everything they got. Their first three drives they had a third and long on each. In the second half they got some big three and outs to maintain momentum. You can't say enough about Bob Sanders. The guy is everywhere and this defense is night and day without and without him.
  13. I'd certainly agree with that.
  14. Like I've mentioned earlier... I'm hoping Peyton has some Super Bowl commercials so it'll be all Peyton all the time!
  15. I completely agree with what you say about Manning. He wins this game and when he retires, he'll be looked at as the greatest.
  16. I knew Peyton had some clutch in him. He made some great, clutch throws in this game. Amazing game. Patriots defense never had a chance in the second half.
  17. That's one of the best professional football games I've ever seen! You guys should cheer for the Colts in the Super Bowl. Tom Brady will be! He said he wants Peyton to win one.
  18. COLTS WIN!!!!!!!!!!! Interception!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!
  19. Touchdown! Holy s***, what a game!! Who saw this coming when it was 21-3?!
  20. Yeah, Wayne was carry the ball kind of hap-hazardly the whole time. Still would be Colts ball with the roughing the passer, though.
  21. Reggie Wayne came so close to losing that!!! Oh... My... God.
  22. What a play by Bob Sanders. That could've been a pick six. Brady's almost made two huge errors in the last two games late. The INT against SD and then this one.
  23. 3rd and 4. Pats will convert.
  24. They're not seeing this ball back. Patriots win.
  25. Pats played it about right. Go for it through the air twice and then set your kicker up a bit better.
