  1. The saddest thing is that here's a Yankees game, with A-Rod celebrating like the autistic high school basketball player who has never played before, and yankee stadium is 2/3 full? I'm asking a serious question, not trying to be an *******, have the Yankees been selling out their games? I mean, this is a $195m team, in the biggest city in the country and I have seen numerous games recently that weren't sold out, they appeared to not even be close. What gives? EDIT: I have no problems with autistic kids. But A-Rod looks like he's never hit a homer before. Get over yourself buddy, IT'S ABOUT TIME!
  2. There aren't enough players on this team yet to say they are looking real good. They were saved by Manny's shot tonight but their offense hasn't been 'dynamic' by any stretch. I'm not saying call Ellsbury up right away, but if Coco's still looking at mid-.200 I, for one, advocate it strongly. This kid is a tremendous athelete.
  3. Has A-Rod been knocked on his ass yet this season? He looks like a guy who thinks he owns the plate, leaning out all comfortable. Hey Josh Beckett!! You reading this? Knock A-Rod off the plate. 98 mph cheese at his hands please.
  4. He wasn't going to keep it up the whole year. He probably would have/still will put up great numbers. Is King Felix really the crux of your fantasy team? That's too bad.
  5. King Felix just left the game after 20something pitches of not very good baseball. We'll get updates soon.
  6. This issue doesn't have to be black/white. WMP has assets that other reserves don't have: power. He lacks things that other reserves don't: plate vision, good contact. If it comes down to have Alex Cora or WMP hitting in the 7th inning down by 2 with a runner on first against a mediocre reliever I'm taking WMP. If it comes down to needing a quality AB against Mariano Rivera I'm taking Hinske. If there were a good offer on the table for WMP I would take it, or include him as part of a deal. I get the sense that Drew will do everythign in his power to stay healthy and that he likes playing in Boston. With Ellsbury coming up eventually there will be an overabundance of OFs (including more well-rounded players like Murphy).
  7. Baltimore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQczCBH-yfo
  8. Julian Tavarez attempting to pick off a guy at 2B by running from the mound was pretty hilarious too.
  9. I think that those of (us) you who are trying to ride Jacksonian about Philip Hughes could end up looking foolish. He may not be quite ready yet, but he's VERY young and has had a tremendous track record thus far. I'm pretty sure we'll be getting to know this kid of a long, long time.
  10. All this Bard discussion aside, let's talk about an established prospect: Michael Bowden's start today: 5.2 2H 0R 0ER 1BB 5K
  11. Rotation: (all in their primes) 1. Pedro Martinez 2. Sandy Koufax 3. Roger Clemens 4. Randy Johnson 5. Satchel Paige only one reliever needed (unless I just put in other starting pitchers for middle relief): Mariano Rivera
  12. Bronson Arroyo goes down looking.
  13. As far as merchandise goes I believe it is shared everywhere except for in the team's stores. So the stores right near Fenway I think that money goes directly to the Sox (according to LL at least it does).
  14. Lugo has been a nice addition so far, hasn't he?
  15. I think I would give him 4 with a mutual option, in the range of 11-13m a year.
  16. For as semi-crappy as this offense has looked this season, the pitching has been nothing short of outstanding. EDIT: I bet the yankees would pay 52 million if the Matsuzaka biding happened again tomorrow.
