  1. Good job getting out of it Beckett. Let's put a run or two on the board.
  2. I think A-Rod has 3 zones that are 'his': down and away, up and away, and down and in. Up and in isn't a 'weak' spot necessarily, but if you miss up and in and hit him then oh well. no big deal. Especially with someone who throws as hard as Beckett does, just get into his head a little bit. Just a LITTLE bit.
  3. When is someone going to make that guy uncomfortable at the plate? Seriously. If he is going to otherwise hit a double, what's the harm in throwing him inside and, at worst, walking him. He shouldn't be getting this many hitable pitches right now.
  4. Nice catch by Abreu. I like Papi's swing today though. 4-4. A-Rod leading off? Probably not a good time to hit him (or, "throw inside under his hands").
  5. THAT is why I like Youkilis. If the guy can make solid contact he really has a good sense of which pitches are hitable. It seems like his ability to get hitable pitches is better than a whole lot of other hitters in the league.
  6. YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUK
  7. ANOTHER bunt. Beautiful.
  8. I wish someone would bait McCarver to open the window to the booth and jump out.
  9. Great pitch to get out of the inning.
  10. I really don't think Beckett looks that bad. 4 runs in 2 IP isn't good, but his control hasn't been horrible. Time for this kid to shut them down.
  11. Nice DP, despite the run scoring.
  12. Thanks Lowell. 3-2 NY.
  13. You hold him at 2B, make the throw to first. EVERY. TIME.
  14. What kind of f***ing play was that? Jesus! He "took the bait" according to Tim. He "made a bad throw" according to me.
  15. On a bangbang play like that the call could go either way. However, it was a low probability play by Cano and could have come back to bite him.
  16. Not if we can't score runs on grounders to infielders who are playing back with a guy on 3rd. That could come back to hurt. It feels like one of those games.
  17. No. He K's too much for that name. JD "nothing bothers me" Drew could catch on. He's the calmest soul I've seen in a long time.
  18. I'm pretty sure my couch shook when he slid. From 3500 miles away.
  19. C'mon JD, you own this fool.
  20. The hitter that frustrates me most in that regard, ORS, is Youkilis. He has such a reputation as a pitch taker that he if he could plant one over the wall occasionally he would likely get ahead in counts more often, draw more walks, score more runs, etc.,
  21. That's true, but even in home-run derbys hitters will take a pitch or two to get the trajectory and speed or whatever. No biggie.
