  1. I'll pat myself on the back. I'm one of the few who thought this team was going to be not just okay, but GOOD this year. So far, so good. Thank GOD for Papelbon in the pen though.
  2. Proctor is one of the guys that yankees fans point to when they talk about how their pen is superior to the Sox pen, right? I just don't get this guy. He's got pretty good stuff, but nothing too fancy.
  3. Nice play by Thompson. Even though he lost some skin on the TEX sign.
  4. I don't really see timlin as the setup man anymore.
  5. I love it when Beckett starts screaming and kicking s*** on the bench. I think he's trying to keep himself together on the mound, but in the dugout he's the same firery guy as always. Overall, a more than adequate start by Beckett. Like schilling last night, it is what a good pitcher does against a tremendous offense. Gutsy and mentally strong given the tough beginning.
  6. We will ALL take that basehit. No biggie.
  7. With this yankees offense it is ALWAYS interesting. When are they ever more than 6-7 minutes away from putting 4 on the board?
  8. 98. You telling me this kid can't bear down? ********. C'mon Josh!
  9. Au contrere Tim. Beckett in the 7th throws harder than Donnely does ever.
  10. f***! Beckett vs. Arod.
  11. 97 MPH in the 7th inning. I guess pitch count or not, that answers my question.
  12. what's JB's pitch count looking like?
  13. HEY UMP. THAT IS OVER THE MIDDLE OF THE PLATE!!
  14. Nice hitting by Cano. Changeup off the wall.
  15. So, Beckett looks pretty good, huH?
  16. Yes, joining the rest of us plebeans.
  17. I wish someone had thrown a slice of pepperoni at A-Rod right there.
  18. Cora, let's hit a double here!
  19. Indeed he did. He has the Pedro Martinezesque controlled-wildness that I think makes batters scared. Fastballs that can start over the plate and work their way up and in. Plus, he's innocent, he can't even speak English so it isn't even POSSIBLE that Francona told him to do it.
