  1. I think maybe WMP chases too many pitches outside the zone. :dunno:
  2. That wasn't a coherent sentence. And to make the claim that the Sox better watch out when posada and matsui get back is also dumb. They don't give a rat's ass and neither do any of the other teams who beat the yankees. They beat them with even MORE pleasure because of those guys. Your problem right now is not offense, or catching, or fielding in LF. It is pitching.
  3. I'm sure Matsui would have caught that one, wouldn't he have Jacksonian? Or perhaps Posada? Would both of those guys have either scored or knocked in runs tonight to negate this score? I don't think so. I appreciate your optimism and I appreciate you very much as a poster, but you're not going to convince me that I should take this win (if we get one) with a grain of salt because of injuries. did you take the sweep last year with a grain of salt because of the Sox injuries? Do you make a caveat with every time you mention how many times the yankees have won the division to account for injuries? I wouldn't either.
  4. 102 pitches through 7 aint bad. This kid has some heart. 7 K in 7 IP.
  5. Have some faith in the 'pen man. OHHH that should have been a called strike.
  6. He is an injury waiting to happen. I'm afraid you don't know what its like to face the yankees as a fan. We're used to EVERY SINGLE POSITION being an all-star. It really doesn't matter to me one bit if Matsui comes back or not. last year you had Sheffield AND Abreu for awhile. Neives has hit the ball harder than Posada likely would have tonight. You're not going to convince me that we should be shaking in our boots about some decent hitters who are out of the lineup. If you can't win with Damon, Jeter, Abreu, A-Rod and Giambi (2 HOF, 5 all-stars) plus Cano and a gg 1B then you just weren't meant to win that game. That's what I'm saying, Yankees fans and the media the past few years have always felt sorry for the Yanks when they get off to a slow start or have injuries. When the Sox lose half their team to injuries its the fault of the FO that they didn't construct an indestructable team.
  7. Thank God "Weird Weapons: Allies" is on the History channel. did you guys know the Allies tried to build an aircraft carrier out of ice? Man. I hate commercials.
  8. Maybe. But if I remember correctly Beckett gave up 5 runs yesterday, 4 in the first two innings. He did what he had to do to keep the sox in the game. ANY pitcher could pitch against the Yankees every day and have an ERA of 7. Pedro called them his "daddies". What part is concerning? That he wouldn't be able to win in the playoffs, or that he "only" keeps them in games against the yankees when he's not pitching that well? He has dominated against everyone else. I think a break and a vow of silence is in order.
  9. No it isn't. Schilling's opening day start was considerably worse, and against this lineup I equate this with Tavarez's start against TX. You guys are all jumping overboard here. I find it kind of sad. EDIT: I didn't even read the end: to this point in his MLB career? The 24 K's over his first 3 starts tied a record of active players with El-Duque and Tim Hudson for a rookie's first 3 starts. He's not walking everyone. He has pitched in 3.5 games in the MLB now. Settle down.
  10. Yes, it isn't the same as pitching against anybody. Only the Yankees are the Yankees. Let's rock Pettitte.
  11. Again, these guys aren't A players. They're major league players who are either rising stars (Cabrera and Cano) or established vets (Dougy). Nobody is surprised.
  12. Yes, but they should have started him. What a disaster!
  13. Wily Mo!!??!?? That was an MLB The Show pitch, that you guessed "Slider" "outside" and it showed you the ball icon 2 feet outside, yet you still swung.
  14. I think letting them off the hook would be allowing them to sit warmly in their sweatshirts and not warm up. Instead they've been used heavily and that, to me, is not getting off the hook.
  15. Miller played baseball? Was he a catcher? Or a ball?
  16. He's a rookie. Give him a break. Save your intellectual rigor for people like a700. He likes it. :harhar:
  17. Don't shut up, but it just isn't fair to have unrealistic expectations of this guy. What he's going to do is he's going to pitch well enough to keep this team in games. He doesn't have Beckett's stuff but he is much more polished. He's 26, about a year before people are considered to be in their prime. As he learns the hitters and umps and strikezones more he will only get better. His work against A-Rod has been impressive thus far.
  18. These guys coudl have a gyroball come into the booth, introduce itself to them, and describe its life history, and they would still call it a changeup-screwball.
  19. Let's K the side here Dice. C'mon man!! 97, I think the gun IS a little off. I'd bet thats 95.
