  1. They shouldn't even allow him to wear his hat like that. It looks unproffesional and tells me a lot about Abe. He seems imature, cocky, stupid, and I sure hope one hell of a pitcher. I also hope he is made to straighten out that hat and act like real major league ball player. We need a good pitcher that is cocky! Just not stupid or imature!
  2. Your an *******. Listen everyone in the league hates Shef. Everyone thinks he's a dick! Why would you want a guy that seems to infect every team he's played for with issues. That guy wasn't even looking at Gary when that ball came his way. Everyday players are interfered with on foul balls. You don't see them freaking out and making a big deal about it. I think Shefs a dick, your a dick, and the Yankees really actually suck this year. I've always hated the Yankess, but respected how good of a team they used to be. They've blown it when the picked up A-Rods contract. Thank GOD we didn't land him! He, Shef, Kevin Brown, and the rest of the duchebags can go to hell along with you.
  3. A-Rod disapears when the pressure is on.
  4. Nice the youth movement is the talk of the town pretaining to the Celtics. That is other words for "rebuilding". So we can expect sucking for another 1 or 2 years. If we can manage to hold on to some of these young studs we should be back in contention for the title in 3 years. Al Jeffereson is going to be as good or better than O'Niel from the Pacers. This guy Greene seems like a huge steal! We are now in stage 2 of the youth movement or aka rebuilding movement. GO SOX GO CELTS GO PATS GO BRUINS... WHO ARE THE BRUINS AGAIN?
  5. It is kinda strange... I sit and think about what the Sox would be doing if they where in the Yankees position right now? The Yankees did it to themselves, but we used to be in the same situations a lot of years. The old ownership would only do enough to keep us all hoping for the team to heat up. Now we expect the best out of them every game. It is a much different experiance being a sox fan now vs. 5/6 years ago. Back then we all new that the sox would be 2nd behind the Yakees (sometimes worse) and that we'd have to pull out heroics in order to move on through the play-offs. Now it's a given, we expect them to win. I sure hope the sox mangement keeps up this drive for perfection instead of the old "ahh thats good enough" attiditue. Go SOX - In Theo WE TRUST!
  6. Hey Keeennnnny Kennnnnny.... YOU SUCK
  7. I never really understood this, but maybe someone could explain it to me. Players stats in the minors are basiclly what they have for stats in the rookie/2nd seasons. Wouldn't it make sense that a player good enough for the majors would have better stats in the minors? This could also be the amount of benadyl I took today making it hard for me to remember my name no less understanding the improbables of baseball.
  8. Abe Alvarez picture looks like an idiot! His stats down in AAA don't look all that great either. It's funny when they try to explain why a guy is put on the DL when he really isn't hurt in order to call up someone else from AAA for another need.
  9. I think we'll come back strong after last nights debockel. Boys I'm watching the pre-game stuff. In the background you can see Fenway and all the people hanging out waiting to go inside. I love going to Fenway. I wish I had season tickets, free train tickets, free parking at Riverside Station, oh ya and food and beer at the game. Note to self... If I find an old lamp rub it and the first wish be the hole free everything for sox games! Oh course my second wish would be world hunger, then my third wish would be to own the food company that solved the world hunger problem making me very rich!
  10. Did we really get beat that badly or was it a nightmare? Oh well, let's just chalk this one up as OOOPPPSSSS F*CK%NG SH#T!
  11. I attended the Braves vs. Marlins game in Atlanta on 6/22. A kid from my Boys & Girls Club was in a journalism training down in Atlanta. As a surprise the Boys & Girls Clubs of America sent the kid to a Braves game with a Press Pass. He interviewed Adam LaRouche. The game was fun and of couse meeting the playes as well as field/club house access was great too. The only problem was the let down I got when I entered Turner Field. The park has no feeling other than cement and corporations plastered all over. Yes the sound was better and the large (biggest in baseball) was really cool, but Ted's park coudn't even come close the amazing feeling one gets from attending a game at Fenway Park, home of the WORLD CHAMPION BOSTON RED SOX. The one thing the sox could do to improve Fenway is put more historical items and Red Sox art on the wall of the halls ans such.
  12. OK - I went to the game and this is my first chance to comment on the seats... They are completely worth the money! You can watch the game in complete comfort on a nice stool, table in front of you for drinks/food, ect. You can stand-up during the game because the seats behind you are raised up. I was on TV (they alwasy seem to get monster seats on TV). The snack bar never had a line longer than 3 people. The bathrooms are clean and never had a line. Even though I could not see directly at the base of the wall the view of the game from left field high up was unforgetable! It really was amazing and worth the money. By the way if you happen to see a drunk guy with his shirt off and the words GO SOX writen in red on TV or at the game - That was me.
  13. It's funny to hear others say this. When we where in the midst of picking up A-Rod I was yelling NOOOOOOOOOOO please please don't get him he's a curse!
  14. No way man, get real. When a big name player changes teams there is sometimes a big jump in his stats for a short time. Then you'll see Piddy fall apart 2nd half. We could have traded him 3 years ago for almost any young upcoming player/s we wanted. He's gonna throw his arm right off of his body!
  15. Keep Manny - Why not? To save a couple million dollars? Maybe currently he is slumping avg wise, but lets face it when Manny is on the team is on. With our pitching we are going to need a lot of offense. Manny will heat up and the Sox will ride that heat wave to the play-offs or we could just get ride of him and watch other teams play in October!
  16. 3 in a row! Another game vs. Cin Reds then Friday we get Pittsburg. Maybe we can string together 4, 5, maybe even 6 wins. Only problem is Baltimore has 5 easy games coming up. It seems like to me that we are in a race vs. Baltimore, Minnesota, Chicago WS, and Texas. It's kinda strange not to be worried what the Yankees are doing all the time (at least for now).
  17. That was a fun series. It was not fun watching most of the first 2 games, but this last one was a fun game, mostly do to the funny line up that worked. Wake had some production at the plate to help himself. Youk showed everyone he should be the everyday 3B! What is taking so long to make this move? Trade Mueller for a reliever and make Youk 3B, just do it!
  18. Man that sucks! I am the Director of a Teen Center. The Red Sox are really big amoungst the teenagers so it's always great for me to watch a day game. The kids get all into it, yelling, screaming, and of course debating baseball. The first several innings of night game we usually catch as well, unless we are playing whiffle ball in the gym or something.
  19. I think we all forget so quickly what he and the others did for us in the play-offs last year! There are several players that are not putting up the numbers we expect. What about them?
  20. Let's see... I'm a happily married man with 3 children. I am 26 and have been a big boston sports fan since 1985. Mind you I was only 7, but I was and still am die hard! I hope to meet lots of sox fans with great discussions. My battery is going low so see ya. Brent aka Brickey
  21. In 17 come from behind wins this season there has been timely hitting. In many of the losses there was not timely hitting. We live and die by Ortiz and Manny being there when we need them to hit in the guys on base. When they aren't hot we aren't hot. PLUS PITCHING!
  22. I have a seat on the monster for the PITT game Friday, June 17th. It's called a RED game. What does this mean? I was thinking about it after I told my cousin I would buy one tix from her for a $100.00 for a red game 2nd row monster seat. Holly crapeoly! $100 for an outfield seat? I've never been up there before is it worth it? What are the perks?
