  1. Why? Does he really need the formality of a rank insignia?
  2. Sorry, between the sounds of the keyboard and mouse as I move to ban you and the slurping sounds your sister is making from under my desk, I couldn't think of a clever comeback for this.
  3. That was in the offseason.
  4. I disagree, especially given the fact that he may still be injured. I would rather have missed him this entire season and had him back hale and hearty in 2013 instead of rushing him back at the ASB and getting this abortion. I sincerely believe he can rebound from this season and play for the Sox next year like the guy they were supposed to get.
  5. It's amazing how you can post basically the same thing lesterkett did, and yet with your phrasing, I lack the urge to shove a lit M-80 up your nose.
  6. Aaron Cook has sucked far less at pitching for the Sox than the guy your Username represents. Also, he has sucked far less at pitching for the Sox than your mother has at losing weight. Also, you have annoyed me, and others, for far longer than we should have let you. Goodbye.
  7. Oh, no doubt. The same goes for almost everyone on that team. I'm just saying if he could shut up while he did it, that would be great.
  8. Kevin Millar talks too much.
  9. My understanding of statistics is limited, but aren't securing playoff spots and winning games sort of, I don't know, connected at basically every level? I thought winning games in order to win the division or Wild Card was kind of the point of playing the games in the first place. I could be wrong though, like I said. It's possible that a shadowy cabal of powerful executives decide who goes to the playoffs from inside a secret meeting hall, and they just play the games to make money and distract the public from a secret buildup towards World War 3. But you guys would know that better than I.
  10. No. I mean, you might be insane for reasons unknown to us. For all I know I could be conversing with a guy who is sitting in a secret room he dug in his basement, surrounded by walls covered in pig's blood and pentagrams and typing on a computer adorned with the skulls of prostitutes. But are you insane for thinking well of the Sox? No.
  11. I know this has nothing to do with today's game, but thinking about how I miss Youk, and how important Ells and Pedroia were to the 2007 championship, I got to thinking about how Ortiz is the last guy left from the 2004 team. When he hangs it up it is going to be sad. I hope this team wins another one in the next couple seasons, it would help to ease the sense of disconnect between that historic 04 team and the current one.
  12. I can't wait to trade Ellsbury. I didn't even see it, because I'm using GameDay, but just the reactions remind me how awesome he is.
  13. When your opinions never exceed six or seven words, more than half of which are variations on "f***" "sucks" "stupid" "overpaid" and "loser", then yes. If you want to be negative beyond all reason, at least try to contribute something, and don't be obnoxious about it. This is why SCM33 and a700, for instance, are still here, and others are not.
  14. Who doesn't? Besides the buffet industry and whoever invented suspenders?
  15. To be fair, Prince Fielder is about as quick on his feet as William Howard Taft. I'm pretty sure I could pick him off of first without spilling my beer.
  16. And it will get quieter, as more of the Debbie Downers/Negative Nancies (why are all of these derogatory nicknames for pessimists based on women's names?) get themselves banned one by one. Unless of course the rest of you pick up the posting slack and post more without being ridiculous. Get on it, people!
  17. I really like Aaron Cook. I mean, I never would have expected this. Even watching all those years he pitched in Colorado I would never have guessed he'd make such a noteworthy transition to this division.
  18. I hope the Red Sox win the World Series every year, but this year I hope they win it more than ever, just so I can buy a 2012 World Series commemorative baseball bat and then beat all of the negative people to death with it.
  19. Welcome to Talksox! Love the avatar.
