why are you always so confrontational and argumentative? I have a feelng that it's because of the team I root for, but who knows. An undeniable truth is that every person gets older, and subsequently their talent decreases (unless you are Roger Clemens or Barry Bonds). To say Jim Edmonds sucks isn't fair. He's ot the player he once was, but he can still bring a lot to the table. He's 10 tmies the center fielder that either of your teams CF options have ever been. Note the italics, as I presume Ellsbury will surpass him one day.

Where did I say it was a definitive report? I've taken the same stance as you since it was released. Go back to the Mitchell thread, which I started and posted in frequently, and find a place where I said that. I challenge you to do so. Man was a f***ing sunday school teacher at one point, for christ's sake. His reputation, and the fact that he's always been admirable and sincere are the main reasons I believe him.

Updated with Kuroda, Floyd, and the rest of today's action

He may be seriously on the decline, but something that nobody can deny about jim Edmonds is that he plays the game the right way, and does it well. Plus the clubhouse presence...

When it comes to a700hitter I have no ability to act rationally. He enrages me to the point that I get so frustrated and do nothing else but act like that. Not that it's right, but when it comes to him that's just how I feel. Player Cooperated, and His Name Was Left Out of Report http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/15/sports/baseball/15mitchell.html?_r=1&ref=baseball&oref=slogin Wonder who it could be.

If you want to get technical though, Andy never cheated. HGH was not against the rules in 2002, when he tried it twice while on the DL. So not only was he not active, he wasn't breaking any rules. Go fall off the Throgs Neck.

In regards to Pettitte thought, I feel almost compelled to believe him. You guys can all say what you want, but I think he is sincerely telling the truth.

I stated several times that I would have no problem with it being changed to 26 to 7. I dont have the abilit to do it myself, and have even requested that someone with the authority do it..nobody has. What do you want me to do about it?

Really? You've always come across that way to me

This is an interesting article on Joba that I came across, but rather than start a new thread I just figured I would put it in here. Nothing serious, I just thought it was interesting and figured I would share. http://www.espn.go.com/mag/articles/NEXT_starting_5/joba_chamberlain.html

I've also heard that back in the late 90's A-Rod worked out a few times with Jose at his home gym. I'm not denying that a relationship exists, all i'm saying is that A) why wasn't this in the first book, as revelations of A-Rod steroid use would have been FAR MORE SIGNIFICANT than what he revealed; and B ) it seems that Jose is just stringing everyone along trying to get some sales for Vindicated. If he has info on A-Rod he should have revealed it already. hahah

NOW it's updated, with the trade tha just went down between KC and the D-Backs, as well as Luis Vizcaino signing on for 2 years with the Rox.

Updated. Edgardo Alfonzo, after spending last year with the Long Island Ducks has signed with the Rangers. Interestingly, Joe Torre is reunited with not only Scott Proctor, but now also Tanyon Sturtze. My prediction is that even if Tanyon doesnt record ONE out all spring, he makes the team just so Joe isn't limited to Proctor on those lonely LA nights. Prediction; both of their arms literally FALL OFF by the All-Star break. Also, not listed in the guide, but noteworthy is that Chris Gibson, son of Cardinal HOFer Bob Gibson has just had his Frontier League contract purchased by the Cardinals. He isn't listed because he's never played any affiliated ball. Probably more of a gesture of good will to Bob, than a representation of their impressions of Chris. Like when the Yanks drafted both Andre Randolph and Taylor Mattingly back in 2005(?).

While absolutely, Canseco has been dead-on with all of his claims from his first book, I'm skeptical here. Not because i'm a Yankee fan with a bias or anything, but because if Jose had info on A-Rod, why not tell of it in his first book? If he has information like he claims to, then lets hear it Jose. I think it's just a ploy for sales when his second book gets published, which appearantly will be very soon. But if you think about it, Jose hasn't been around the game for quite some years, so what new information could he possibly have now tha he didnt have then, especially as time goes on he is being further and further removed from the players he played with and the period in which he played. I think at this point Jose is just dying for some attention, and is trying to sell some books. This isn't to say that what he says in his next book will be false, just that it's ironic and suspicious for him to hold onto this information for so long. I mean hey, why wouldnt he include A-Rod in juiced, considering he is the BEST player in baseball. You would think that's the reason for him to want to do it. Waiting until book number 2 is a little odd in my opinion. But ike I said before when I mentioned what Jose said, I do like Jose and think he does deserve some credibility for what he's said that has been revealed to be true sofar, but this isjust a little fishy, IMO. We're gonna have to wait and see what transpires from this.

One of the papers compiled a NY list much better than any of us have been able to do so far...The year in parenthesis is when they played with the club, not when they used steroids. Regarding NPB http://www.japanball.com/news.phtml?id=11363 NPB denies steroid use in Japan TOKYO, Dec. 14 (20:22) Kyodo (EDS: UPDATING, INCORPORATING EARLIER STORIES ON JAPAN'S REACTION TO REPORT ABOUT USE OF PERFORMANCE-ENHANCING DRUGS IN MAJOR LEAGUES) Acting Nippon Professional Baseball commissioner Yasuchika Negoro on Friday categorically denied the use of performance-enhancing substances in Japanese baseball. ''Our monitoring of the use of banned substances has been working properly,'' Negoro said following the release of former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell's report on steroid use in the major leagues that cites cases involving players currently active in Japan. Yakult Swallows first baseman Adam Riggs and Hanshin Tigers reliever Jeff Williams are among the players who appeared on the list. However, both have tested negative in random drug screenings conducted by the NPB. ''About two-thirds of the NPB-related players mentioned by the report have received tests and there have been no positive cases, so I don't see any problems at all regarding the monitoring by our organization,'' Negoro said. According to the Mitchell report, Williams bought Anavar and Dianabol steroids from a former New York Mets clubhouse attendant in December 2004 -- after the former Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander joined the Hanshin Tigers in 2003. ''In order to provide Williams with information about these allegations and to give him an opportunity to respond, I asked him to meet with me. He did not respond to my request,'' the report said, showing a copy of one check from Williams dated Dec. 10, 2004, in the amount of $1,820. ''I trust him,'' Hanshin club president Nobuo Minami said in a brief comment when asked about Williams' case cited by the report. ''He flatly denied the use of any banned substances and said he is ready to accept fresh checkups any time,'' Minami added. Williams, who helped Australia win the silver medal in the Athens Olympic baseball tournament, was negative in tests conducted by the Australian Olympic Committee in May last year and by the NPB two months later. The NPB systematically started doping tests this year after one year of framework building amid controversy over alleged steroid use that has rocked the major leagues. ''We've been urging each club in NPB executive committee meetings to remain cautious about the use of banned substances. I hope all clubs continue their work,'' committee chairman Tadao Koike said. The Mitchell report also named Alex Cabrera, who left the Seibu Lions this offseason after the two sides remained divided over a salary deal. Senior Seibu official Kosuke Maeda denied Friday that the Pacific League club did not re-sign the former Arizona Diamondbacks slugger because of his alleged steroid use. ''That's not why he left Seibu,'' Maeda said when asked whether his alleged steroid use is the reason for Cabrera's departure after the Venezuelan spent seven years with the Lions. The report said, ''The Drug Enforcement Administration confirmed that the shipment to Cabrera (a bottle of anabolic steroids and several hundred pills in a package mailed to the Diamondbacks' stadium in mid-September 2000) had contained steroids.'' Maeda ruled out the possibility that Cabrera used banned substances during his stint with the Lions that began in 2001. ''I don't believe he ever did it and we always warn foreign players against drug use each time we sign them,'' Maeda said. Meanwhile, officials of the Orix Buffaloes said the allegations will not affect their hunt for Cabrera, who led the Pacific League in home runs in 2002 and in RBI in 2006.

Wow..pretty quick to get on his kids, aren't ya? What exactly did they do to you? It's bad enough that they're going to have to deal with all the backlash from this, and have their name completely tarnished, but now they have to be insulted by people like you who just happen to dislike their father? Do us ALL a faor and just shut the f*** up man. WHen you have somethig reasonably intelligent to say then feel free to open up gain..but s*** like this is just ridiculous. Take your spiteful feelings for the Yankees and go do something with them. Who on the '96 team was implemented again? uhh...none, at least not in this report. If you wanna go to that extreme then be fair about it. Don't fail to mention the '89 A's and such. ..also, keep your homosexual fantasies to yourself.

hmmm Jose Canseco, who was in town yesteday and was deined entrance into the Grand Hyatt ballroom for the Mitchell press-conference, is shocked that A-Rod wasnt't named in the report. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2007/12/14/2007-12-14_jose_canseco_arod_got_off_hook-3.html "All I can say is the Mitchell Report is incomplete," Canseco said. "I could not believe that (Rodriguez's) name was not in the report." ...Jose's a guy who I've always sort of liked. Maybe respected is a better word? IDK what it is but going back to his playing days he's just someone that stood out to me. I like to listen whenever he has something to say, after what we have learned to be true ni Juiced. Anyone know when his second a third books, which he has discussed within the past year, will be published and released?
