  1. I don't. Welcome
  2. With A-Rod going to the DL now we're without two fo our biggest players. Combine that with the fact that the pitching is just a complete headache and I'd say Im a little uncomfortable right now, especially considering we CANNOT HIT WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION!!!! So what's the move gonna be; are Betemit's eyes well enough to activate him or are we gonna carry another pitcher? If neither of those then we would have to purchase a contract and add someone to the 40-man. Idk why I'm asking this because by the time anyone answers the move will have been made
  3. Hughes and the offense's inability to capitalize in big spots. The bats just fall asleep with risp. Inexcusable.
  4. I'm ANGRY after watching tonight's game. Just f***ing pissed!
  5. Gom had tickets to the game and didnt go. But he is indeed cursing Jacko haha I'm pretty tight myself. Enough is enough Phil!
  6. Debbie is so much hotter anyway. What's wrong with Rog??
  7. Perhaps it'ss be different for future generations now that so much of an athlete's life ends up public and they get exposed for what they really are. Maybe that's for the best..
  8. My local paper just reported today that in speaking to him, Matt Morris has informed them of his decision to retire. Maybe he had some help along the way..
  9. At one time all of us had heroes in baseball. Growing up there was always that player (or players) who we looked up to and admired. Every single one of you. I know for years as a kid I loved Roger Clemens (Derek Jeter, Ozzie Smith, and Paul O'Neill were also included in that group for me). Obviously now, at 19, my feelings towards them, Roger in particular, are much different. I feel so much shame towards him. But the point I'm trying to make is you guys can go on your rants about players and how they don't give a f*** about you and everything, but don't be so ignorant as to ignore the past. At one point I'm sure some of you guys worshiped a Pudge Fisk or Yaz or maybe even for some of you Ted Williams., or WHOEVER! Every point made is absolutely true, but to many youth and some adults these guys are icons, and it's tough for some to see things like this go down. The Mitchell Report for example, as embarrassed as I am to say it was tough for me. This was nothing, I dont give a flying f*** about Roger Clemens now. All he did was lie and cheat his way ito my heart for years and it's a pity. I still have those fond memories of standing in Yankee Stadium with goosebumps on June 13th, 2003when he achieved his 300th win, but f*** HIM! And f*** Mindy McCready and her ugly, busted up ass.
  10. Wow Thumper. That's a little much, dont you think?
  11. Nevermind, I remember reading she was doing karaoke at the time.
  12. That is just LAUGHABLE. Why is a 15 year old in a bar anyway?
  13. Hey, I like Morris. He's a local product and everything, but I want him nowhere near a pinstriped uniform!
  14. When I read about it earlier I was shocked. He hada reputation of being a faithful husband, a rarity among pro athletes. This doesn't necessarily mean he did have an affair with Mindy, but it sure looks suspicious. He probably did, but I guess only time will tell. We have to let the story unfold a little but more I guess.
  15. I'd say Melky has at least average range watching some of the balls he's gotten to. And I certainly see him hitting more than 20 HRs at his peak, but I guess only time will tell.
  16. Just saw on rotoworld that Matt Morris, who grew up not far from where I'm from, was released by the Pirates. He's struggled and certainly hasn't been very good the past few years, but he has pitched in some big games throughout his career and I expect to see him catch on somewhere else. Whether or not he returns to the form he had during his best years in St. Louis, or at least close to it, could determine his future as a big league pitcher.
  17. Same should go for you, especially. You in particular have had a tendancy, since 2005, to rip Melky and his abilities. In 2006 when he went on his first hot-streak I remember you calling it a fluke and saying something along the lines of "I hope the Yankees FO buys into this and is stupid enough to hang onto him for the long-term. It won't last." Not exactly word for word, but it was something to that effect.
  18. I have nothing to say. I'm just gonna sit back, smile, and enjoy it. And I'll try not to say I told you so. Lets not forget how everybody used to s*** on me and my favorite Yankee prospect, especially after his 2005 callup, and the first game of his 2006 stint. I know he hasn't done it year in and year out on a consistent basis, but what did I say?? Where are all the quotes in this thread coming from, was there another thread?
  19. And of course Iwamura wasn't in my lineup last night either. Damn!
  20. Bernard Malamud's "The Natural" was a great read. The movie has always been my favorite, but after reading the book I have a much better appreciation for the story.
  21. Fuentes is a deal breaker. I'm losing a bit in my pitching numbers, which has been my team's strength. With the downgrade of that closers position, I need Fuentes for some added saves and depth. We can try to work through this with something else though. Let's get this accomplished.
  22. Are we talking baseball novels or biographies, retrospects, documentations?
  23. Kilo, check your PMs.
  24. Damn you SOTK! I was looking at Greg Smith for myself as well.
